One of the best books

This is literally a good book I've ever read on investing. Every page covers everything from basic definitions to strategies for investors to include several levels of economics and math that go with it.

Disappointing

This book was very disappointing. The information was presented very generally without many examples or specifics. Also it was repetitive at times and didn’t always follow a logical progression. The only marginally useful information was presented in the final few chapters. I bought this book hoping to learn how to understand mutual fund types and become more informed and able to compare different funds available. I could probably have learned everything this book presented by Googling for an hour.

Informative for beginners, but condescending

I found the audiobook informative; however, the narrator was robotic. He reminds me of those educational films the school teacher used to show us on the 8mm projector. Add a little warble and a clicking sound and you’d think you were back in an elementary school classroom in the 1970’s. Sadly, I found the reader hard to listen to. I found myself squirming in my chair and trying to pass silly notes to the girl sitting next to me—which was really odd because I’ve already been married to her for 10 years. LOL! Still, I powered through it because I wanted the information. If you don’t have a well-rounded grasp of mutual funds, you’ll find the book informative at the novice level. It covers many definitions and explains the differences of various entities and platforms. Some of the things it says seem unnecessary or even silly. For example, it says that you may think learning about mutual funds is a waste of time, then it states “it is not”. Well, if someone thought learning about mutual funds was a waste of time, they wouldn’t have purchased this book! In several places it says that you need to learn about investing before investing. That seems a bit obvious. Again, someone who bought this book seems to understand the necessity of learning. So, some of the book is repetitive, some is condescending, and some is just unnecessary filler. Even so, there is some good basic information in the book, such as definitions. Still, I wish I hadn’t wasted a credit on it. It’s certainly not 3 hours worth of information.

Well Worth It

I really enjoyed the book. The author provided the fundimental foundation of investing in Mutual Funds. The information was easy to understand. I recommend.

Thanks to the author reply, there are solutions online. But I still think it explained things too much. Thus, costed too much reading for a simple concept.
