Publisher's summary

What if your husband turns out to be the man sent to kill your ancestor?

A choice to make

Highland Games fanatic Fiona Campbell believes her only value is her family's history, myths, and legends. So when she travels back to 1689 Scotland and discovers she's the Fiona of family legend, you'd think she'd be excited. And she is. Except that the legendary warrior she's to save her ancestor from is the hottie in a kilt she just handfasted.

A heart to heal

Duncan MacCowan once trusted his heart to the wrong woman, but when a strange lass drops into his life and pries opens his heart again, he impulsively handfasts her. Yet before he can finish spinning fancies of their domestic bliss, she flees on the night of their wedding, leaving him even more convinced that he can't trust his instincts where his heart is involved.

A family legend that will tear them apart

Fiona wants to shake her fist at fate - she finally meets the man of her dreams but can't have him because of the family legend? Not cool, fate, not cool. Duncan believes he's just terrible at picking women and destined to be alone. But as the heat of their attraction flares, how far can they tempt fate for love?

Spunky American Saves Ancestor & Catches HOT Scot!

Must Love More Kilts is fun, well written, and filled with highland romance. It is the 4th book in the “Must Love” series by Angela Quarels and the second book in the series involving the Campbell sisters (Traci and Fiona) who are transported back in time to 1680's Scotland to prove whether hot guys in kilts are a myth or legend. Must Love More Kilts begins immediately after the conclusion of Must Love Kilts, with Traci married to Clan Chief Iain MacCowan, the conflict between William of Orange and King James II still warring, and tensions are high and trust is a scarce commodity.

At the beginning of Must Love More Kilts, we learn that Fiona handfasted with Duncan MacCowan and fled the marriage bed before consummating their marriage. She did so because of a Campbell family legend where a brave lass named Fiona saves her ancestor's life from an attack by a MacCowan warrior before he sets sail to Virginia. Basically Fiona realized that she must be the Fiona of family legend because she observed a scar and tattoo on Duncan's torso (as she was exploring his very fine physique immediately after their handfasting) that matched the description exactly as in the legend. The rest of the story is about Fiona resisting and then succumbing to her undeniable attraction to Duncan (he will try to assassinate her ancestor after all), and Duncan learning to trust Fiona after being scorched by past love.

Thankfully, Mary Jane Wells narrated this audiobook, as she did the prior books in the series. She is simply fantastic. She narrates as if there are several different actors being used, and has a spunk and lightheartedness that many narrators lack. I can easily imagine the setting, characters, and urgency in all the right place, and I feel like I'm watching a movie while listening to her narration. In summary, I highly recommend this audio and entire series - you won't be disappointed!

Ay Lass, you can peek all you like!

Lots of historical drama but not enough romantic tension or sassy dialogue. I waited for this one and hoped it would be as good as Must Love Kilts 1 but it was shorter and not as fun. It didn't get moving until chapter 14 when Duncan and Fiona camped out in a ground hollow and she asks for a peek under his plaid / fèileadh.

I found Fiona a more likable character than her sister Traci but Duncan was so much less than Ian.

I love Mary Jane Wells in these roles. She's young and charming, and brings sexy Scots to life in Quarles books. You'll probably also enjoy Lisa Kleypas books read by her.

1680's Scotland Time Travel Romantic Adventure

This is the latest book in an Historical Romance, Time Travel/Alternate History series. This history in this book is more on the real historical time line rather than an alternate time lime as are some of the books in the series. The story takes place in 1680's Scotland during the reign of James II, right before William of Orange comes to power. The conflict between William of Orange and King James II and the Protestants versus the Catholics is in the background setting of the novel.

Time traveler Fiona has hand-fasted with Duncan and then discovers that Duncan MacCowan has the scar and tattoo described in her family legend as belonging to the MacCowan warrior who had attempted to assassinate her ancestor and William of Orange supporter, William Campbell. According to family legend a brave warrior lass named Fiona saves William Campbell's life. Fiona realizes that she she is the warrior lass of legend.

What a quandary for Fiona. She is in love with Duncan and she knows that at some he will try to assassinate her ancestor.

The book was an enjoyable listen with an interesting historical background and the narration was superb.

I was given this book by the author in exchange for an honest review.

Just As Great As The Others!

Angela Quarles is fast becoming one of my favorite historical romance novelists! Her vast knowledge of the time and land shine through in all of the books in this series. The narrator is completely AMAZING with a voice that pulls you right into the story. I do, however, think I should have refreshed my memory and reread/listened to the last book again. I had forgotten a few things. I loved Duncan and Fiona's story. I look forward to more from Ms. Quarles.

A trip to ancient Scotland with adventure and love

Get swept way to Scotland in this time travel story. Fiona has no idea how truly brave she is until she has to prove it. I don't think she truly understands how fearless she is. But she did come back to become The Fiona of tales that she heard at her grandpappy knee and for the love of Duncan, whom she has handfasted with in her first trip.. Duncan is a big teddy bear with a heart that has so much love to give but has not had such a good time with love. They have so many fun and exciting adventures and mishaps!!! Fiona is such a ham!!! She has a flare for the theater and the sea weed is a perfect cover for her!
I am always thrilled how Angela Quarles spins a tale! I am always so exited to get my hands are her newest book!! she never fails me either!!Always entertaining and always has a fun lady!! Men are always put in their place lovingly of course!!!
Mary Jane Wells is one of my favorite narrator!! she brings the books to life like no ones business!!! I have listened to all of her read all of Angela's book and listen to them many times over!! Can't get enough!! She draws you right in and you are spell bound!!
Side note, I am so thankful to have found my way to Audible, because it brings my favorite books even more alive to me!! audible 20 review sweepstakes entry!!
Thanks Angela and Mary Jane for enhancing my life!!

wonderful

Loved all four time travel stories. I wish she had more or at least what happens to these couples later in their lives.

Such an annoying heroine

Your entire self worth is based on your family history? I just couldn’t get into it. The heroine was ridiculous, inconsiderate of the people around her, and overall a downer to spend time with. The personal growth was too little too late to save the story from being annoying. Loved the first 2 books in the series, but this one was a pass.

Really good male voices!

The reader does and excellent job with the male voices! Doing opposite gender voices is very challenging and she does a superb job. Her American one is not to my taste and put me off heroine a bit at first. It also gave me a giggle to hear her say “big ass bed” in her prim British accent.

The plot is interesting but I should have read the two in order. I could follow it without reading the first book but the build up wasn’t as satisfying and I have a feeling you get to know the characters better. I found both protagonists to be a little flat but maybe I wouldn’t feel that way if I read book one. If you’re wavering between the two, I suggest just going in order.
I also thought it was too short. The story ended just when I was finally identifying with the characters! The book was good - just give me more of it please :)

Not as good as her sister’s story

I love Mary Jane Wells as a narrator so no issues with performance. But the story itself was not as interesting as her sister’s. I didn’t like her much. Duncan was a good decent hero.

Hero's are women too

Great continue of story of little sister turn at being a hero of the family tree. With some twist and turn and humor. Love the Audible readers because they remind me of listening to the story's on the radio.
