Slow build but good.
I started this book excited to learn theory. Unfortunately the first 12 chapters are exploring history and not so much theory related. I almost lost interest. The first 12 chapters were really repetitive me. Once chapter 13 started I was inundated to theory and knowledge. This just knowledge just built on itself. It was fantastic. By the end of this book I was excited to bring out my musical instruments and explore the knowledge I gained. I am sure I will be going through chapter 13-27 over and over. There is a lot to take in. Excited for this. Great choice.

Should be titled “Why you need to learn theory”
I bought this audiobook in order to learn theory, not listen to someone blather on about why it’s important. I know that and bought the book for that reason. I don’t know if this is necessarily an American trait but the last few books I bought are so full of useless information and repetitive filler that they could easily be reduced to a pamphlet.
Not happy with this book!!
