Publisher's summary

A nasty faculty feud leaves one Scumble River teacher belly-up....

Her honeymoon may have been less than relaxing, but Skye Boyd née Denison is still high on marital bliss with her new husband, Wally. The fact that their family is about to get bigger is even more exciting, even if Skye is dealing with morning sickness - and trying to hide the news from her ever-meddling mother, May.

But Skye quickly comes crashing down from cloud nine when the body of one of her coworkers, science teacher and volleyball coach Blair Hucksford, is found in the school swimming pool. The troublesome trainer was on the bad side of almost everyone on staff and many of the girls on her team, leaving Skye to sort through a huge roster of suspects. Now she must figure out which wronged party was mad enough to kill, and quickly - before someone else in town gets bumped off....

5 Stars

This is a very good series. I have enjoyed every book. Thanks to an ever changing society, Denise Swanson will always have inspiration. This book is no different. The plot is timely and handled in an entertaining way.

Sweet but a bit sappy

No my cup of tea. Light but a bit too light for me. Good chick lit

Struggled to stay interested

The plot is too contrived and unrealistic. , it just didn't hold this retired high school teacher's
attention.

Silliest chapter names ever

What a disappointment! The mystery is okay but the tmi and omg and similar titles make it seem as if it's directed towards high school students.

Wonderful

Loved, loved this book and didn't guess the ending. I adore Wally and Skye and just can't get enough of them. That Skye is having a baby just thrills me and Wally is going to be an awesome father.

I love the audio versions of this series and listen them over and over.

Great Title and Story

If you could sum up Murder of an Open Book in three words, what would they be?

excellent, exciting, wanting

What other book might you compare Murder of an Open Book to and why?

I would have the say Connie Shelton Sweet Series. Both series are a lot alike.

What does Christine Leto bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She did a great job

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I loved how Wally seem to always put Skye at ease with her doubt and feelings. I also loved the interacting between the two. I have the enjoyed the relationship since book one and I look forward to seeing it grow even more.

Any additional comments?

I have listen to this series from the beginning and I have enjoyed watching the relationships grow between all of the characters. I have to say I love the how Skye has grown as well. She seem more secure in her self than in the past I think that is due to the fact Wally takes her for who she is and loves her the same. He even values her work with him. I look forward to book 20 and see how May and Wally's Dad deal with baby issues. I think it be cool to have his dad involved a little more. Let's not forget about what happen in the office with Skye and the deputy. I think there is more going on there as well. So if you enjoyed the other books you will enjoy this one. It leaves you wanting the next one.

I didn't even finish it

I don't need graphic descriptions of a french kiss with my cozy mystery. Entirely too much sex for my liking.

Great Series

Recently I began with book 1 in the series and just finished book 15 as well as the new addition. This is a terrific series, clean, friendly, and I loved the characters. Each character is unique and fun to follow. You can't go wrong reading or listening to the whole series.

What we do for our kids.

Would you consider the audio edition of Murder of an Open Book to be better than the print version?

This question is very hard to answer because since I signed up for audio books I haven't gotten a printed book. I honestly love the audio books better because there is somebody else ready that puts personality to the characters, they change their voice, pitch of their voice, and when they are reading you can actually picture what the character looks and sounds like. When I read it, I just read and some times I have to reread in order to try and picture what the character looks like

What did you like best about this story?

I really like how this story is a continuation from the previous book. I just like how they flow. I'm down to the last book, curious on how it will end or what its about and a bit sad that this is the last book.

Which scene was your favorite?

My favorite scene was actually the epilogue when everyone was at Sky and Wallies house eating dinner and talking about the case. Hearing the whole story and all the moving parts was my favorite, because then I get to hear parts that I never connected to the main mystery.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I think the ending moved me, finding out who the killer was and why she did it moved me. It made me think about the things as a parent that you do for your kids to try and give them a better life and try to provide for the. Sometimes you don't always make the best or correct decision and sometimes the wrong people end up getting hurt but for your kids you would do anything for them.
