Publisher's summary

Inner peace becomes difficult for Hope Hadley to find when she shows up for her yoga class one morning and discovers the dead body of her handsome male instructor on the ground in the studio. When Hope discovers that her instructor's good looks had caught the attention of a number of his married female students, the pool of suspects becomes surprisingly large. It's going to take more than some deep meditation for Hope to crack this case.

Great Read

Murder of a Yoga Instructor by Meredith Potts was another great read by the author. This is book three in the Hope Hadley Cozy Mysteries series. Hope doesn't expect to find her yoga instructor dead when she walked into class. I enjoyed reading her and her brother finding the murderer. I can't wait to read more by Meredith Potts.

Favorite in series!

Murder of a Yoga Instructor: Hope Hadley Cozy Mystery Series, Book 3 by Meredith Potts, narrated by Rachel Carr is my favorite book in the Hope Hadley series so far. Running time is around 1.5 hours, making it a perfect Sunday afternoon treat! I started with Book 1, and I'm working my way up through each of the audiobooks in this series. I think some time has passed since Book 2 because Hope and her brother - a police officer - seem to have an improved relationship since the last time they were together. It was great to get to know him as a character! Although I think your overall listening experience will be more enjoyable if you start at the beginning with Book 1, Book 3 can definitely stand on its own two feet. If you are looking to just get one audiobook in this series, I recommend this one. It's entertaining, quick-moving, and contains no cliffhangers.

Rachel Carr's performance as narrator is great! She plays a convincing Hope Hadley, and her ability to stay in character throughout the book (and entire series) is consistent. Her voice and inflection, especially in dialogue, is engaging, and I feel that she has added to my overall enjoyment of the series. It is very clear that she is well-rehearsed and knows the plot and characters like the back of her hand. She is an excellent narrator, and I'm looking forawrd to hearing more from her in Book 4!

I recommend Murder of a Yoga Instructor: Hope Hadley Cozy Mystery Series, Book 3 by Meredith Potts, narrated by Rachel Carr to those looking for a short, but complete mystery, as well as to those who enjoy cozies and female sleuths as main characters. I feel that author Meredith Potts has grown as a writer since Book 2. Her ability to write short, complete mysteries with fun, quirky characters is to be admired, as there are some who have yet to accomplish the same in 300+ pages. Keep up the great work!

GREAT PLOT

MURDER OF A YOGA INSTRUCTOR is the third book in the Hope Hadley Cozy Mysteries. While each will probably stand on its own, it’s probably best to read each in the order of release.

Now, if this is the first book you have picked up for this series and you think you are starting where a cliff-hanger left off, you didn’t. Great beginning! For such a short story, there are actually two murder mysteries in one.

While I like the set up for the story, I don’t particularly like the hostile dialogue. The suspects, Hope, and her brother, Joe, are all rude and argumentative during questionings. My suggestion is to sprinkle a little sugar around. Remember: you get more bees with honey. Of course, I do have to ask myself if that hostility is in the writing or only in the narration. I’m not certain.

So the long and short of it is that I liked the story idea, but the execution fell a little flat. It had a great beginning and a dark (true-to-life) ending. The one thing I do want in a cozy mystery – the bad guy doesn’t get away, so I’m satisfied for now.

Narration: Rachel Carr’s narration style would best be described as “rushed.” Take a breath. Relax. Not every sentence should have the same emphasis and cadence. While not monotonous, there is no variety in reading either. Rachel has a pleasant voice, but I had to listen twice just because I lost concentration due to the flow of her story-telling.

Note: while I was given this book as a gifted audiobook copy, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

A little short on story building

this was a very short audiobook which was not a problem but I think more character-building more storyline would have been nice

Clean Cozy Mystery

Third in a series but great as a stand alone. It is a good clean, (no sex or harsh language, or bloody descriptions) in a cozy mystery. Rachel Carrs narration is good and keeps your interest and makes you want to continue listening. Hope arrives early for a yoga class to help her decrease stress and finds the instructor dead. She is an amateur sleuth and she is hoing to investigate the murder with her detective brother. You have to read or listen to see how this investigation goes. The characters are believable and interesting. I reccommend this book for a nice short relaxing getaway.

Christian mystery

I love this series that is a clean Christian mystery set! The characters have background, writing is well rounded, and it made me laugh too. Finished in one sitting and can't wait to listen to more!

Relaxation and murder!

When Hope is looking to get away and relax a little, she heads to yoga. With her typical luck, she walks into the classroom and finds the instructor dead! With a little help from her brother, a plethora of suspects and her intuition, Hope sets out to find the culprit that committed the crime. We get to know Hope a little more with each book and I especially love her relationship with her brother, Joe. These two always have entertaining banter and work so well together in solving the murders. Meredith Potts has an incredible way of packing a short novella with details and well developed characters, leaving the reader unknowing til the end and completely satisfied.

The continuing narration by Rachel Carr is wondeful. She is Hooe and gives the story spunkiness and a cozy feel.

Murder of a Yoga Instructor

Hope it's third up on a chair watching as the killer she and her brother were after if pouring gasoline over everything. She's rescued but the near miss is emotionally wearing on her. After trying several ways to relax she decides to go back to yoga. Unfortunately her first day back she walks in to find a body. Can't a girl ever get a break!!
The narrator is fantastic as she brings Hope and her brother to life.
Fantastic audio and story
