Loss of a friend moves Sabrina to investigate

I have enjoyed this series. Another murder close to Sabrina starts out the story. David and she were surprised by some of the facts that turned up. There were worries that they would lose friendships as they investigated. I also really like the personal connections of the characters as they grow through the series.

Once again, I enjoyed the narration by Carrie Burgess. She altered the voices so that you could distinguish male and female, and differences in age.

I received this audiobook as a gift, and this is my unsolicited review.

Great opening to the book!

Murder and Citrus Cream Cake: Mysteries of Treasure Cove Series, Book 4 is another fun "Whodunnit" cozy mystery by the ever-so-delightful duo: author Meredith Potts and narrator Carrie Burgess! While I'm sure the print and Kindle versions of this book are great, I can't seem to steer myself away from the audio for the series - so much fun to listen to! In this episode we join Sabrina again on her quest to find the killer of a recent murder case. As the story begins, Potts wastes no time at all setting the scene. Right away listeners are introduced to the characters and conflict. Sometimes when I start a new book, it takes awhile to get into the storyline - not here! I was immediately drawn into the fast-moving plot and felt suspense about what was to come, mainly due to the events being so realistic. Even though this is part of a series, it can stand alone. Whether you start with the first book or this one, I think you will really enjoy the Mysteries of Treasure Cove series!

Carrie Burgess does a nice job playing both male and female characters. She is fun to listen to as she brings the story and dialogue to life. Everything sounds completely professional in terms of the recording and production of this audiobook. There are no unnecessary pauses, white noise, or distracting/confusing parts of the text. This made for easy listening and my overall experience definitely worth it!

Murder and Citrus Cream Cake: Mysteries of Treasure Cove Series, Book 4 by Meredith Potts, narrated by Carrie Burgess is an audiobook that cozy mystery fans (and even first-time listeners) will enjoy! So far, it is my favorite in series, and I give it a rating of 5/5 stars. I'm looking forward to listening to the next in series when it is released. :-)

Thank you for reading my review. I hope it was helpful. Happy listening!

Great Read

Murder and Citrus Cream Cake was a great read by Meredith Potts. This was book three in the Mysteries of Treasure Cove series. Sabrina finds herself investigating another murder when her old friend is murdered. Unfortunately her friend, his wife, is accused. I enjoyed this book and can't wait to read more by Meredith Potts.

Quick Cozy Mystery

I feel like the story could have probably been fleshed out more and we could have gotten to know the characters better. I would have liked as much description on their background as we received for most of the meals that occurred in the book. This was the first book I read in the series so some things that may have been addressed in previous books were not completely apparent to me, especially in the beginning. For example, in the beginning I only really knew Sabrina was an official investigator because of the summary of the novel; later on there are details that clearly indicate that she is, but initially I was a little lost. Also, I kind of felt like the dialogue was forced to push the progression of the plot. I'm not sure if this feeling of forced dialogue stems from the writing or narration, but the thought occurred to me more than once.

Overall, I thought this was a very cute quick listen, and is thus why I am more than willing to look over some of the faults in the writing. I actually was surprised by the ending. I was convinced it was going to be once suspect but it turned out entirely different than I expected. The author quickly sets up the case and nicely wraps it up just as fast. Its over before you know it.

I thought the narrator did an excellent job on this performance.

Another Murder Case for Sabrina

When an old friend turns up dead and his wife is a suspect, Sabrina and her hubby are on the case. An interesting who-dun-it that will keep you guessing without too much blood and violence. Return appearances by many of the series earlier villains.

Great book!!!

I actually listened to this book first, and it was good. It was easy to catch up with the past books and was a refreshing short story. Will be listening to the next ones, and will catch up on the ones before.

I love it when the murderer gets caught!

cozy-mystery, law-enforcement, murder-investigation

Detectives in a small town really have a hard time interviewing suspects! Who murdered the victim? The ex wife just out of prison, the current wife, the new lover, or is there a surprise suspect? What a mess! And the investigative partner is is the detective's non-LEO wife because there is no town budget for another detective, and this really makes for some good reads!
Carrie Burgess is excellent as narrator.

Sugar sweet treat

This is another sweet murder mystery by Meredith Potts that you will enjoy. The only downside is the story is short so you meet a lot of characters in a short space of time, the good thing is you have meet many of them before in previous books as there are a lot of recurring characters even previous suspects that aren't to happy.
Sabrina needs to tell the truth from the lies in this mystery when a friend is killed but with everybody pointing the finger at someone else things get tricky. Was it the wife, the ex wife or the lover, each having there own motive everybody is under suspicion.
I like the narrator think she does a good job with the voices.

Short but fun cozy mystery.........

Murder and Citrus Cream Cake is a fun cozy mystery. Although this book is obviously part of an ongoing series, I had no problem following the story line. Potts introduced multiple suspects, and I didn't see the ending coming. If you enjoy a low drama, small town mystery with a quick but still tricky resolution, this book is for you.

Carrie Burgess did a good job with the narration. She has a light voice that matched the overall cozy feeling of the story. I had no trouble knowing which character was speaking, and the narrator's occasional use of a long pronunciation of her O sound lends a quaint quality to her performance.

When murder hits close to home

This series is a sequel to the Daley Buzz mystery series which shows Sabrina married & working full time to solve mysteries with David. I really love this series, the stories are the perfect length & so easy to listen from start to finish in one setting. The duo is tasked with solving the murder of one of their close friends & having to navigate a tricky investigation. The story is captivating & there are plenty of red herrings to keep you guessing! If you’re a fan of cozies you will enjoy this!
