Sweet Mysteries Series Keeps Getting Sweeter...

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

I keep enjoying Meredith Pott's Mysteries Series. She is able to convey the personalities of the characters so well without lengthy explanations. The stories are sweet in more ways than one... The only problem I see with her books is that by the time I finish listening to them, I get a craving for a sweet threat... Not great on my waistline...
In the story "Murder and Chocolate Cake", Sabrina once again unravels a puzzling mystery, in which she tries to track down an escaped convict. What's more the jail bird is her sister's murderer, an event that resurrects painful memories. Great twists and turns throughout the plot.
The narration by Carrie Burgess is excellent and I enjoyed her interpretation of the various characters. If you like cozy mysteries then this book is for you.

Don't let the length fool you!

This cozy by Meredith Potts is one of my favorites of her series! I love the Daley Buzz series, and this take on Sabrina and David years later is so much fun. Now that these two have taken on many cases over the years, it's no wonder that one..or two...would come back to haunt them. When Kyle, the murderer of Sabrina's sister breaks out of jail with Wade, another criminal they put away, Sabrina and David are determined to find them. I love revisiting old characters, but I was surprised when this was the plot and I couldn't wait to see how these two would finally catch the two and put them back where they belong! It's a great story, lots of good scenes with characters we have grown to love. I think this is one of the best so far and Carrie Burgess does a great job with the narration. Can't wait to see what these two end up solving next!

Enjoyable Listen

Murder and Chocolate Cake by Meredith Potts pulled me in with its vivid imagery. This is a short listen that has lots to it. I loved how the storyline was original. The concept of criminals going for retribution seemed a little far fetched, along with Sabrina's involvement in the investigation, yet so enjoyable. My favorite scene in the book was the mystery room with their daughter using deductive reasoning to figure a way out. The narration by Carrie Burgess was well done. She added the right emotions. I requested this review copy audiobook and have voluntarily written this review. I will definitely listen to more books by this author and narrator.

Jail Should Be Forever

When a pair of jailbirds with a personal grudge against Sabrina and David escape, the pair go to work to track them down and make sure they get their just desserts.
This one's a cute, not too heavy detective mystery with good pacing and engaging characters - short and easy on the ears (or eyes if you're reading the print version) and perfect for those days when you don't want a dark murder mystery or a scary suspense story.

With a slice of chocolate cake is a good way to listen

This was a fun light hearted book. It was a little bit short for my liking as I thought the write could have made more of the escape but still a good listen and a guess if you have a short journey it is perfect.
Sabrina and David are facing a difficult case when two prisoners escape jail as they were instrumental in putting them both behind bars and the convicts have sworn revenge. The leads seem few and far between but with there family's life on the line the pair don't give up.
I liked the narrator as she has a nice easy voice to listen to.

A departure in plot for Sabrina and David.........

Murder and Chocolate Cake still features the two main sleuths of this series, Sabrina and her policy detective husband. However, the overall plot of this book was different from the usual in that Sabrina and David knew the guilty party from page one. Rather than trying to solve a murder, Sabrina and David were searching for the whereabouts of two escaped convicts. Both of these murderers were convicted thanks to the efforts of Treasure Cove's crime fighting duo, giving Sabrina and David extra incentive to get them back to prison ASAP. For long-time readers of this series, it was interesting to see some of the suspects from previous cases return as possible accomplices to the prison escape. To those new to the series, it is easy to follow the plot without any of the background. Once again, Potts perfectly blends mystery and character drama for an enjoyable cozy mystery read.

Carrie Burgess is a the narrator for all of the books featuring David and Sabrina, and she is truly the voice of Treasure Cove. She has a very pleasant voice and a smooth delivery. I hope that Potts and Burgess keep producing more audiobooks in this fun series.
