A simple cozy mystery about the murder of a teen

Murder and Brandy Boy is a simple, clean cozy mystery revolving around a murdered high school senior who’s death may have been related to some grades being changed. This book was originally published in 2015, and it lacks the depth and quality of the author’s more recent work, but it is still a fun although somewhat tragic story.

The narrator speaks clearly and is easy to understand, but her reading does not do the story any favors. I sped her narration up a little as she talked rather slowly.

I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Emotional Cozy Mystery

Liz Lucas, the owner of the Red Cedar Spa, has hired a teenager to help her in the kitchen to prepare meals for her guests. Just days before his graduation, the intern's car goes over a cliff under suspicious circumstances. Since the local law enforcement officer is incompetent, Liz decides to unravel the mystery regarding the teenager's death. As Liz investigates, she finds several people that might benefit from the demise of this teenager. Dianne Harman's cozy mystery series are fun and entertaining. This series includes two delightful canine companions, Brandy Boy and Winston, plus the reader is gifted with delicious recipes. Kelli Petroski's narration is great as her voice is clear and pleasant. I was given a free copy of the audiobook and I have voluntarily left this review.

Murder and Brandy Boy

I love listening to these short stories while doing my hobbies, they are very good and always include an animal character in them. The narration is good and the recipes at the end are a bonus.

Brandy to the rescue

I enjoyed this fun cozy mystery. I have listened to a lot a books by this author (and not in the right order) and this is one of my favourite series, so it was nice to go back to the beginning to how Brandy boy became famous. Most authors now days include a cute dog or cat as a side kick to help solve the case but I just love the way Brandy boy plays his part. The rest of the characters are like able but it is definitely the dog that wins me over. The mystery it's self was interesting and covered a lot of subjects from bullying to computer hacking all of which provided a plethora of suspects. I had worked out who the killer was but that was mainly because I didn't like the character than any good detective work on my part. Off to start the next book in this great series.
Liz is shocked to find out her employee has committed suicide. It was only hours ago that they had been working side by side.and he did seem troubled but not suicidal. At his funeral she over hears a conversation about the local high school being broken into and the possibility of grades being changed. Just how far would somebody go to make sure they go to college? As far as murder? The idea doesn't seem that far fetched when she learns that his breaks were tempered with in her car park. Knowing the police sheriff is more worried about handing out parking tickets than looking into the murder and the hacking, Liz starts to look into both events because surely they have to be connected.
The narrator was good and came with some different sounding voices for the characters.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
