Publisher's summary

It should have been simple. Easy come, easy go, and in between, atonement.

She was not who I would have chosen. Gwen was delicate and lovely: a former model with a ruined life, living loudly in the quiet of the Smoky Mountains, healing injured bears. When she laid her hands on me, she healed me too. That's how it began. That's where it went wrong.

I knew she could never be mine. But I sinned. I sinned.

Not the emotional turmoil the last book was!

🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻V from Kansas🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻

This story definitely kept me guessing, almost to the end. This author always seems to keep you guessing about the true character of one of the main characters; the Hero this time. At the beginning of the book, you’re led to believe that the Hero is actually the antagonist. She also uses flashbacks, regularly, throughout the book. You have to pay attention or you will get really confused. There is the current timeline and three other timelines, in the past. There is also a few cameo appearances from Kellen and Cleo, from The last book. Barret, the Hero in this book, is the older brother of Kellen, from “Sloth”.

In this story, both the Hero and the Heroine are struggling from PTSD. His is due to military issues and her is as a result of an accident. A lot of this book focuses on their symptoms from their PTSD. In addition, there is an compelling parallel between the H and h’s life path.

This book is kind of a psychological thriller, mystery and romance all in one. And honestly, I was glad that I didn’t cry through the majority of the book, like I did with Kellen’s story.(the last book)

In my opinion, these books would definitely be credit worthy, however, these gems are a gift, for they are included in the Escape Package.

Loved the story but 50% of this was sex.

I really enjoyed the story but when 50% of it is sex filler I get exhausted and impatient for the story.

My perfect ratio would be 85/15 and not every chapter needs full blown sex scenes. It's okay to fade to black.

Shocking, wow!

I enjoyed flipping between reading and the audiobook as this was a pretty lengthy book. There were times I wanted to curse and scream, and others I wanted to sing and dance, and then cry. Many emotions, many twists and a totally unexpected gotcha! Barrett and Gwen were that magnetic couple that kept you guessing, but also made you think about all of our service men and women who risk their lives, those who give their lives and others who work to integrate back into a non military world. There are so many unseen and often unspoken trials for our veterans. This book made me stop and appreciate the freedoms I enjoy because of their sacrifice. Grab this book and enjoy the journey.

This is an incredible read

First... IF you or someone you love suffer from combat PTSD, this book although incredible it might be too intense & difficult to read. So beware.

Loved the fact that this book had ties to SLOTH.. very interesting story... lots of twists and turns and unexpected surprises. The character development was very good... I am hoping for character connections in Covet..

Title should have been shameful secrets

This book starts off slow, didn’t make sense, I almost stopped listening a couple times. Glad I was persistent because once it started to come together I couldn’t stop listening. It sure wasn’t what I expected.

Did Not See That Coming

What a shocker! I really thought I had it figured out- what I thought was going to be the ending but it came out of left field! I thought I could have predicted the whole story and how it was going to end and what it was really all about about midway through.... I couldn't imagine what another 8 hours of listening time could contain- yet I stand corrected! The story was a little slow getting into the main substance of the whole relationship between Gwen and Barrett but if you had listened to the 1st book it's just how the author writes. I couldn't figure out how these characters were connected to the 1st book until a few hours in... So just give it time to connect the stories. Overall I enjoyed the book. 😀

Suspense, Romance, Redemption

What else do you need? Yeah, lots of great sex and some bears to love. Ella James is a master storyteller placing the plot points in a way that heighten the mystery and intrigue. I love this narrator duo. It only added to the story.

16 hours of sex

This book was literally 15 hours of sex and 1 hour story. I like a good sex scene here and there but good lord. I mean I actually felt bad for Gwena. She must be spent
