Publisher's Summary

Redemption never tasted so sweet.

Andy Buckland is no stranger to TV. The worst moment of her career happened when a live studio audience got food poisoning from one of her dishes. But when the pasta guru is given a slot in the televised cooking competition Diced Showdown, she sees her chance at redemption. In exchange for the shot at vindication Andy and her fiancé, Malcolm Jones, are tasked to find the identity of a mysterious blogger who has a nasty habit of revealing detrimental secrets of the show's top celebrity chefs. A little undercover sleuthing is one thing, but when her hometown is taken over by the show's production and one of the judges winds up dead, Andy's afraid she's bitten off more than she can chew, and she might just choke on a dish best served cold.

Humorous, Engaging Mystery

Any additional comments?

After her television cooking debut was sabotaged, Andy, aka “The Death Chef,’ Buckland longs to figure out who was behind it. Since moving back to her hometown, she’s rescued her family’s pasta shop, become engaged to her fiancé, Malcolm, and reunited with her estranged daughter, ex-boyfriend, and father. All that will come in jeopardy, however, when Andy’s former mentor and boss asks her and Malcolm to look into a blogger who is trying to bring down the show known as the “Diced Showdown.” To top it off, a chef from the show gets murdered, Malcolm comes home from a business trip with an infant son, and someone starts sabotaging Andy once more. Will Andy be able to get control of her life again? Who is the saboteur? Are they also the murderer?

Narrator, Suzanne Cerreta’s unique voices masterfully bring to life each character’s unique personalities and accents. Characters are well developed, likable, and humorous. Her smooth intonations add depth to the author’s fast pace. The plot is well developed, engaging, and full of twists and turns. Impossible to put down, this is a must listen for anyone who likes humorous mysteries. It is recommended that people read/listen to the first two in the series, but it is not necessary.

Awesome Romcom Mystery

The writing is phenomenal. There are many humorous moments accompanying a mystery that once again finds Andi Buckland and Malcolm Jones and the residents of Beaverton, N.C. encased in non-stop incidents that never end.

Narrator, Suzanne Cerreta is perfect for this series. She can voice accents of French, New Zealand, Italian and southern US.

Carbs and chaos

Andy just wants the quiet life with her name restored and her sexy accented fiancé and a home. Life isn’t cooperating for though and this book is chaos personified. I absolutely adore these characters. They are so relatable and funny and Andy just burrows into your heart. You can’t help but love this crazy chef with a heart of gold. The calamity Jane of the pasta world Alex and her motley crew will keep you entertained and giggling for hours. Just absolutely loved this series. So many things I didn’t see coming! The narrator does so good with all the many accents. Her ability to help you get lost in the story was amazing.

Love this series

I dearly love everything Jennifer L Hart writes. The characters are all quirky, likable, and generally very unlucky. I am always sad when one ends, and want more. I hope this series continues!

Suzanne Cerreta has the perfect voice and style for these books!

Interesting

The story was good, kept me guessing, when I found out who did it, I never would've guessed. I wish there were more books to this series.

so predictable

the ending is so ridiculous. I won't give it away except to say why does the petite protagonist always ends up the hero. it's getting old. I couldn't finish it

I love this series

I really enjoyed how the last book answered issues that here brought up even from the very beginning you didnt think or expect to have a resolution. I have listened to all books easily 6 times in that time period. I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS SERIES!! I can't say it enough. The writing was very well done. The I would be remiss if I neglected to bring up the vocal chops of Susanne Cerreta. She blew me away. One moment having a sweet feminine southern twang the next could be a sexy smoldering New Zealander man then transition to a sassy old Italian woman. This is everything and more I could have ever hoped for from a audio book.

Fun addition to the series

Lots of fun, as usual. If you like this series, this book won't disappoint. Once again, kudos to reader Suzanne Cerreta for her excellent narration.
