Multiculturalism and Non-Racialism: Comparing anti-racist programs

In 1903, the eminent African American civil rights leader and Harvard-trained philosopher, W. E. B. Du Bois, wrote, "The problem of the Twentieth Century is the problem of the color-line." Multiculturalism and Non-Racialism are two ways to address racism. They are both systems developed to address the same issue, but with different historical roots and consequently different perspectives. This is an analysis of the two approaches comparing and contrasting them as they address racism. Multiculturalism is the approach developed through United States academic research while Non-Racialism was born from the Anti-Apartheid struggles of South Africa.
