great story told in a subtle but engaging manner
the speed at which you knew what the characters were about was refreshing and the classic protagonist/antagonist construct flipped on its head as Mulan represents the fight against the subjugation of women in traditional cultural society. A story of courage, strength, love and finding ones inner self.

Awesome book!!!!
I loved everything in the book spoiler alert Mulan and Honghui kiss at the end of the book I wish they had in the movie!!!

I loved it!!
What an incredible story! It has more details than the live action movie. I was enthralled the entire time I listened to it. I definitely recommend this book.

A journey of self-discovery.
Everyone hides behind a mask and everyone yarns to be truly authentic. This book is not just a story for children but a story for all ages, and metaphorically probes the question. What does it truly mean to be truly authentic?
