Publisher's Summary

The second original, touching, twisted and most of all hilarious novel and audiobook for children performed by David Walliams and Matt Lucas. This wonderful story is told by two of Britain’s best loved comedians and the characters from David’s book spring to life with fantastic voices and characters galore that will make you laugh out loud.

Read by David Walliams and Matt Lucas.

Mr Stink stank. He also stunk. And if it was correct English to say he stinked, then he stinked as well....

Chloe sees Mr Stink every day, but she’s never spoken to him. Which isn’t surprising, because he’s a tramp and he stinks.

But there’s more to Mr Stink than meets the eye (or nose) and before she knows it, Chloe has an unusual new friend hiding in her garden shed.

As Chloe struggles to keep Mr Stink a secret and her dad tries to hide a secret of his own, the stage is set for an epic family confrontation. But there's one other person with a an extraordinary secret - Mr Stink himself....

Great Story

This was the first book by David Williams my family listened to. This book is very heartwarming, a little sad, and ends on a great note. I really enjoyed how the author brought together so many aspects into one book. My kids were entranced, and we had a great time listening to this book. I would highly recommend this book for grade school kids. Be prepared to explain what some words mean though. "Tramp" for example. My kids loved it despite the language difference.

A very aromatic comedy drama

My 7-year old son loves this story. (We're only about halfway through, because we only listen to it when we're in the car for longish time periods.) The reader/narrator's vast array of British accents for the various characters are cartoonish when they need to be, but sincere and honestly human when required. Just like a good comedy. Great entertainment with a good human story in the middle of it. I love it too.

Mr Stink by David Walliams

Funny and had me giggling, lovely bed time 'read' and was read brilliantly by David Walliams, not just a book for the children.

Steer clear if you have a sensitive child

I will never buy a walliams book again. Had 2 and both have death of a loved one and leaving of a loved one. Really upset my son that he would'nt sleep. Only reason i've one star is because I couldn't submit review with less

Great entertainment

I loved this book. The fact that Matt Lucas and David Walliams both do the voices of the various characters makes the book come alive, and if, like me, you're a fan of Little Britain you will no doubt relish hearing their voices in this setting. Though it's not a dramatized play, it gives the audiobook a flavour of this, complete with sound effects and is as such perfect for children of all ages, like me.

Pretty good!!

Okay, Ilike this because it’s different. Other books are like ‘house crumbled to the ground and he was homeless and then girl came up nd help thee end’ but this is better!

I recommend this to 7-12’s, as it is really funny but can get a bit complicated. David made all the characters sound real. It was like I was there!!! It was so good.

I fell asleep really quickly as I was listening to the book so intently. All in all a great book 👍🏻

Feeble and formulaic in every respect.

A cynical money making exercise that was painful to listen to. Our son hated it too. Avoid

Very good

I liked it because it’s funny and humorous and I think David Walliams did a very good job with this book
I would recommend this book to all ages because it isn’t too rude but isn’t to childish
I would rate this book a 4 star rating for the reasons above

Absolutely brilliant

We listened to Mr Stink on our drive to school for a few days and it was so wonderful we didn't want to stop listening when we arrived. Beautifully put together with superb character voices.

great reading, wouldn't recommend for parents

The reading was great, the story fine for little ears, but I wouldn't recommend it for a road trip. a bit too much for the parents to endure.

This was just so wonderful for everyone, even I loved listening with the kids. Great listen for a long car ride or just broken up over a couple of weeks while doing the school run. Narration was just perfect!

Family Road Trip worthy

Dear Mr Walliams,

As a Parent I was a bit apprehensive about letting my kids listen /read your books.

Little Britain came out when I was 18, and I loved/love it, but there is no way I would let my kids watch it though.

So how could you go from 'Bitty', Anne and Emily Howard to kids books? Easily!
These are the books I would have read when I was a kid.
Just a little bit gross, a little bit off (Mr stink would eat it if he could), a whole lot of heart and 99% funny (1% right in the heart strings though... Ouch).

We were on a family holiday and we chose this to listen instead of the usual 'Capitalist Mouse' music.
My wife and I have a habit of 'forgetting' to put the mouse music back on when we set off on a car trip with the kids, but we never forgot to put Mr Stink back on!

Good work David Walliams, you helped this young family have an unforgettable experience.

Kind regards,
Daniel from Tasmania.

Great story, great narration!

What a beautiful story. Enough giggles to make it enjoyable and enough pointy bits to keep it real. Some great conversations had with my 8 and 9 year olds as the story unfolded. Brilliant!
And superb narration too. Pitch. Depth. Pace. All spot on. Thank you for a superb few hours of listening and many more discussing!!
