the author seemed annoyingly unrepentant
the author seemed annoyingly unrepentant and apparently unwilling in the storyline or his musings on his previous actions to consider any possible detriment he might have caused others and I just didn't get any depth or real understanding of what makes the guy tick apart from some superficial account of is incredibly successful connection with organised crime and his support for it
I mean what was he thinking what contradictory ideas did he have in his mind or has he absolutely no sense that he might have done something differently if he had his time again etc I'm sure he must have other thoughts and reflections but I just didn't get these from the text of his book which would have made the whole thing for more interesting - maybe I missed it somehow I don't know

Feels very rushed. Clearly a fascinating true story but characters introduced so quickly and glossed over it's hard to keep up.
Lots of key details about the smuggling and convictions remain unclear because of the concise nature of the way this is presented.
