Publisher's summary

When the irritating Mr. Collins proposes marriage, Elizabeth Bennet is prepared to refuse him, but then she learns that her father is ill. If Mr. Bennet dies, Collins will inherit Longbourn and her family will have nowhere to go. Elizabeth accepts the proposal, telling herself she can be content as long as her family is secure. If only she weren't dreading the approaching wedding day.

Ever since leaving Hertfordshire, Mr. Darcy has been trying to forget his inconvenient attraction to Elizabeth. News of her betrothal forces him to realize how devastating it would be to lose her. He arrives at Longbourn intending to prevent the marriage, but discovers Elizabeth's real opinion about his character. Then Darcy recognizes his true dilemma: How can he rescue her when she doesn't want him to?

Lovely and funny

Great book. I liked Darcy in this book. He was very determined to have his Elizabeth and he was clever about it. I highly recommend this book to a Jane Austen fan fiction lover.

Funny

Loved the story and bought the kindle version too. The narration was a bit fast and robotic.

A sweet and fun book

Poor Mr. Darcy realizes he cannot live his life without Elizabeth - just as he finds out that she is engaged to Rev. Collins. Darcy becomes determined to end their engagement so that she can become his. He has quite a feat ahead of him since she does not like him due to his previous bad attitude toward the people of Merton and her mistaken belief that he has harmed George Wickham's chance in life by denying him the clergy position in Derbyshire. But Darcy is very clever and very determined. It is charming and fun to hear of his actions. Great story and well performed.

Great story, very well narrated

I loved it. Darcy's persistence in winning Elizabeth's heart was endearing. Lady Catherine and Mr. Collins were at their worst, just perfect. Darcy and Elizabeth had their share of misunderstanding (as usual), but they shared a few tender moments as well. The scene on the balcony was swoon-worthy. And I enjoyed Caroline in all her snide glory.
Highly recommended.

Lizzy and Mr. Collins?????

In this PPV, what if Mr. Collins proposes after the Netherfield Ball, before the proposal at Hunsford, and due to her father’s ill health Lizzy accepts.

What if Darcy is now faced with the loss of Lizzy, while she still hates him and still would not want him to save her?

Interesting premise? Yes, but the story comes together even better. There are funny moments and more unexpected mistakes by Darcy that make matters worse before they get better.

great story line, well written

I really liked this story, waiting to see how Darcy would break up Elizabeth and Mr Collins. I love getting lost in a story, and you can totally submerge in this story line. although sometimes the pronunciation of the narrator sometimes bugged me
