Publisher's summary

Shoe store owner Roger Hudson has a chip on his shoulder the size of Mount Rushmore. Hiring real estate agent Sally Bright, the most annoyingly positive woman ever, probably isn't the smartest move - but she's the best. Her constantly bubbly nature gets under Roger's skin, but there's an even bigger problem. She's also getting into his heart. And don't even get him started on her dynamite legs.

Roger doesn't fool Sally one bit. She knows his crotchety act is as fake as her best friend's Gucci bag. She's dealt with his type before, but selling his home is proving to be harder than she thought - especially since she's developing feelings for her handsome client. But just when things seem to be going in the right direction, Sally's secret could destroy everything she worked so hard for.

nice and sweet

it was a cute short story. I enjoyed the humor and the narrative was good too. I usually can't stand male narrators doing female voices but I enjoyed this.

A Light-heated Feel Good Romance!

Rich Amooi's stories are always a pleasure and fun to listen too! Each plot is clean, sweet, funny, low on the angst, and doesn't leave the listener emotionally drained. I love how he always delivers those heart warming moments that will make you smile and leave you with a feel good feeling. Mr. Crotchety was a nice change of pace from the more serious romance stories I listen too, and I feel it deserves five stars.

Greg Tremblay's performance was awesome! He did an amazing job with the characters, and all the emotions! I don't cry….but I actually had tears in my eyes during the apology and confession of love scenes and it was Greg's performance that brought these touching moments to life. I hope to hear more audios narrated by him.

If you love a good clean fun story with humor and lots of kisses, then you don't want to pass up on this story! I will definitely be listening to another Rich Amooi story in the future.

Crotchety isn't always a bad thing ...

What made the experience of listening to Mr. Crotchety the most enjoyable?

Mr. Tremblay gave a wonderful performance with his narration. He made each character real for me. His inflections for both the male and female characters were spot on. I want to meet some of these people in real life.

Who was your favorite character and why?

While I liked all of the characters, they are well rounded and well developed, I enjoyed Roger the best. It was nice to see the true person inside and listen to him develop into what I would say was his old self years ago.

Crouton was great too. I love a dog with personality.

What does Greg Tremblay bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Mr. Tremblay's ability to show a wide range of emotions was the foundation of this great narration. I can't wait to listen to another of his performances.

If you could rename Mr. Crotchety, what would you call it?

The title fits this book perfectly.

Any additional comments?

I liked that this book was full of characters that were past the age of 30. It's nice to see a romantic comedy with 'older' characters.

Quirky rom com

Yet another fantastic rom com from Rich Amooi. Roger "Mr Crotchety" sends out the grumpy old man vibes. I usually don't like negative characters, but Roger had a softer side and I loved him. His grumpiness came across as amusing rather than annoying and I found myself giggling on numerous occasions. I enjoyed reading a romance with characters in their 50s and 60s and relished the resulting George Clooney massaging my feet fantasy.

I listened to the audiobook edition narrated by Greg Tremblay. He did a fabulous job, speaking clearly and at a good pace. His characterisation was excellent.

I will totally listen to more of this authors books..this was super fun! Roger is a widower...and has hardened himself to keep others away, Sally is a divorced lady with a good heart, and happy personality...She and Roger clash in the worst way, but are incredibly attracted to each other...When Mr Crotchety himself Roger finds out his neighbor is moving and selling to a very public celebrity he has to move asap...Sally ends up being his realtor...and romance ensues...the almost lose each other, but love always conquers all in book land..and I loved it!!!!!

This book was light and fun

Any additional comments?

I absolutely loved this funny, sweet and charming romance. Roger is 60 and Sally is 50, not the typical ages I usually read but I loved these characters! Roger comes across as a jerk at first but he's such a good guy with a good heart, it's just a little broken. I love that Sally brought out the best in Roger and she saw past the Mr.Crotchety character.
This book gave me hope, that love after 50 is still possible!
