Publisher's summary

They're trying to kill her, and she doesn't know why....

Kathryn Holt knows only that she has to get far away as fast as she can. In a frantic, cross-country odyssey, she transforms from pliable Kathryn to feisty, determined Kate Miller, staying one step ahead of the killers on her trail. Then Fate delivers her into the hands of a dark knight with a tortured past. The safety he offers is as tempting as he is.

After having his perfect life ripped apart, recluse Quinn sees protecting Kate as his chance for redemption. He never plans on wanting the guarded beauty, never mind falling for her. Denying the explosive chemistry between them is useless, and as danger closes in, he must fight to expose the killer or risk history repeating itself.

A great writer and and awesome narrator!

Desiree Holt is one of my favorite writers. This book is great with suspense, mystery and a strong hero. The love story intertwined with the suspense makes it an audio book hard to put down. Dawson McBride brings the story to life with his perfect voice. My favorite writer and narrator make this a five star listen.

Murder,suspense,deceit,drug cartel and love

This book was enjoyable. It shows the transformation of naive Kathryn Burke into the strong capable Kate. All Kathryn knows after she stumbles into a meeting she was not meant to hear is that het life is in danger. It follows her cross country journey and the things she must do to stay one step ahead of who is chasing her. Despite her dire situation she finds a hero with his own tortured past. Together they find out who wants her dead and why. With some friendly help he manages to help her resolve her problems. She helps him face his demons. They eventually find love with each other. The narrator Dawson McBride did a great job of bringing Designer's characters to life. I really liked the part in the book where they standing on the side of the road in the pouring rain and Kate is trying to decide if she trusts him or not. Quinn's response was funny.

Dawson McBride's voice

I just finished Amelia by Diana Palmer.
When I was listening to Mr McBride's voice,
I thought I have listened to a lot of audio books
and I must confess he is one of my favorite readers. So when I found out that he is the reader Moving Target I just had to buy the book so I did. Outstanding!!!!

Imagine stopping in to surprise your fiancé at the office, only to overhear him planning your demise. This is what has happened to Catherine Berk. Now on the run from a very powerful drug cartel, Catherine, now Kate, finds herself stranded on the side of the road in the tiny town of Windswept, TX. Her rescuer, Quinn, has also know loss and heartache but is drawn in by the scared woman. When Kate unloads her story, Quinn offers to help...but, with lots of ppl in the cartel’s pocket, who do you trust? Lots of action and moments when you want to shake either Quinn or Kate...lol. Great HEA.

Single girl, cross country chase, HEA

I was gifted this book by the author, thank you.
The narration was a single narrator, he was clear and concise and did a good job.

Story- starts right to the point Kathryn Burke entitled rich girl goes to the law offices of her recently deceased father and uncle overhears a conversation between her fiancé Peter and a stranger. They are discussing her murder, the murder of her parents and uncle. While listening she hears them mention a flash drive that contains incriminating evidence that is in Peters office. She turns goes to his office retrieves the drive and hopes that she can leave the same as she came without being heard. She is almost home free when spotted. Knowing she can’t return home she runs across country, but there doesn’t seem to be a mode of transportation she can us that there isn’t someone asking questions, or that she doesn’t need Id finally she finds a cheap car dealership that she can purchase a car without much money or id. She ends up in Texas when the car breaks down and there is nothing and no one around to help. She is contemplating her next move when a stranger rescues her and in doing so she also rescues him. Quinn her rescuer was in law enforcement saw his family gunned down by a cartel and now he is faced with the same danger all over again.
I have said enough you get the idea. This story has a good plot, drama, intrigue, cartel association and love.
