Publisher's summary

A man with a prison record has no place around a fresh faced college student.

Tell that to Rory Prince. He should stay the hell away from Olive Cunningham. There’s one small problem, though. She won’t stop almost getting killed. With this too-smart, too-sweet girl holding his heart in her hands, Rory is powerless to do anything but keep saving her.

Homeschooled from a young age, Olive is now out on her own and discovering the world, one milkshake flavor at a time. Until recently, she has experienced life through books. She’s walked in a million sets of shoes while flipping pages—enough to know that Rory gives her once-in-a-lifetime feelings. If only he would stop trying to protect her…from himself.

Dirty talk!

Tessa Bailey has one dirty mouth, or should I say her characters do. This is definitely an insta love book, which is not my favorite troupe but it was still entertaining and I liked it.

Spicy sweet romance

The spice scenes in Tessa Bailey’s books are just right I could read them all day ! The only thing I didn’t care for was when the male narrator was trying to imitate the jersey accent for the male main character. His own voice is sexy!

In the middle

I didn’t love the males voice he used for the female character. Kinda ruined it for me. Predicable boy meets girl story line but cute.

Love it

I freaking love Rory Prince. He is the epitome of the broken boy hero. Had exterior with a sensitive and fragile interior. I'm just crazy about him. And I love Olive too. Though very mature for her age she still shows her lack of experience at times. and the Chemistry between them is intense and incredible. I thought the voice the male narrator used for Rory was just a little over the top. But I loved how overall narration. And the female narrator was a perfect Olive.

Meh

I love Tessa Bailey but this book just didn’t hit for me. I think it was a little too rushed.

Love Tessa!

I love everything that Tessa Bailey puts out, so I guess I’m biased. Some I adore him more than others, but this series has been one of my favorites, especially the first book, but there are a lot of references to Jamie and Marcus, and their story is book 2.

Rory and Olive have their own issues and demons, but they are sweet together and because it’s Tessa Bailey there’s lots of dirty talk and hot scenes!

Didn't love the narrators, but the female voice was much better than the males, his female voice is almost painful.

There are some pretty funny moments, some serious heartbreaking sacrifices, brothers who would literally do anything for each other, a sweet summer story!

Trigger warning & spoilers!

This book was so disturbing, so dysfunctional, abusive & creepy as f#$%

1st off, as someone who survived a physically, emotionally, & verbally abusive marriage, a book like this us the reason women think it's possible to change the "bad boy" into a good one. Reality check! You can't change them & the abuse only gets worse!

He's so creepy with his ownership, stocking, & anger towards the other guys for even looking at her....after ONLY SEEING HER TWICE! He's a fucking stocker!

The author needs a serious reality check & needs to realize that your books & your stories affect how women see the world.

This book is so cringe & disturbing. Anyone who's suffered abuse needs to avoid.

Entertaining but it’s a No for me: not Tessa’s best

To me this read like Twilight and Fifty Shades fan fic with a jealous bad boy male character. So I’d give this book a trigger warning for potential controlling relationship dynamics. His jealousy and stalker behavior are red flag behaviors and should not be lauded as sexy for any healthy relationship. This worries me. Most of Tessa’s other books do a better job of having a healthier dynamic in their male characters, but this one was concerning.

I really feel like the plot lines could have been dug into better and on much deeper levels. Both characters seem lacking to me. If all you want is sex, it has some, but emotional connection and romance in the build up is lacking for those of us who read for more than just the wham bang. I like a bit more build up in the relationship.

The voices: the male voice was fine doing the male part, but when reading for Olive sounded like Olive Juice/Mini Mouse and that’s all I could picture. It took me right out of the story.
