"Heartbreaking and at times hilarious" -- July 2009 Book of the Month --LoveWebRadio.com

After she loses everything, Cass hits Pause on life, only to learn life isn’t done with her yet. And neither is love.

When Plan A for her life goes south, Cass moves in with single friends from church and reluctantly decides to mentor an at-risk teenager. Never mind that she knows nothing about substance abuse or criminally-minded loser boyfriends. Once the prickly, dog-whispering Nadina enters her life, everything is up for grabs. There's new employment at a video game company with a charming fellow mentor. There's an unexpected friendship with her womanizing, atheist housemate, because who else can she ask about sex, drugs, and rock 'n' roll? And finally there's the realization that, though she once considered herself a cosmic unresolved plotline, she still has a pivotal role to play.

"A fun and highly recommended read that shouldn't be overlooked." --Midwest Book Review

This is a faith through tragedy story that actually reads as a believable journey. I can imagine a non religious person enjoying the relatable nature of the characters and their life experiences.

Every character is flawed and humorously dealt with.

I wasn’t irritated at all by the AI or the church references. I enjoyed listening to it with numerous laugh out loud bursts. Who knew AI could deliver funny.

The deadpan humor works with the AI voice.
