Publisher's Summary

Clive was the local man candy in his mountain town. But after tragedy struck years ago, he's closed himself off to the idea of love. It's gonna take someone extra sweet to break his hard-candy shell.

When candy-maker, Hazel, moves into town, he finds what he's been waiting for. But falling in love means more than just satisfying a craving, and he has to weigh the filthy-sweet rewards to decide if he's ready.

Loved the story but not the reader

The reader's voice didn't really do the "mountain man" any justice. The story itself though is soooooo sweet. ;)

A cute book with heart.

This was a really cute short story. I liked how Hazel was brave enough to push fear aside and move forward with life. Her spirit and bravery forces Clive to best his on fear. I kind if wish their book was longer.

Sweet story, ruined by narration

This is a short, but sweet story (pun intended) about Hazel the candy-maker and Clive the mountain man. Based on the summary, I should have loved this audiobook. I was only able to listen to two-thirds. The narrator's voice and delivery did not represent the story very well. Her delivery was monotone and reminded me of children reading out loud in class.

Super short but cute

This is super short and I wish it were longer! The story was kind of rushed, especially the romance because there wasn't time for Hazel and Clive to get to know each other and ease into anything. Full throttle romance! It did have cute parts and I want some wine gummies now! I would have liked a male narrator, I didn't think the woman did Clive's parts super well.

Meh

This isn’t a bad listen for an hour. However, Clive is a bit of a douche and Hazel is just...I don’t have words. Um, there’s nothing sexy about health code violations...having sex in a professional kitchen is nasty.

Ok

Instant love denied because he doesn’t want to leave a woman behind if he dies doing his dangerous job. He lost a good friend and brother in law and saw the repercussion for his sister and children.. Hazel and Clive are a nice enough couple..she is sweet just moved to town after life losses. Clive is so attractive women chase him but he doesn’t care until Hazel..sorry but the cover is a scary looking guy in my mind...not chasuble! Did not care at all for the narration, the voice, the monotony of story telling. Nothing special ...it’s an ok way to spend a couple hours

the story may be good...

but the narrator.... smh. maybe for the girl voice... even the kids... but not for the males... yes its raspy enough but no male enough or deep enough or have enough inflections to make it sound good... especially for the adult parts. if you can get past that... the story is decent. but i cant.
