Publisher's Summary

One week.

Home alone.

Girl genius.

Unrepentant slacker.

Big lie.

What’s the worst that could happen?

Mona is a smart girl and figured everything out a long time ago. She had to. She didn’t have a choice. When your parents are uber-celebrities and you graduate from high school at 15, finish college at 18, and start your PhD program at 19, you don’t have time for distractions outside of your foci. Even fun is scheduled. Which is why Abram, her brother’s best friend, is such an irritant.

Abram is a talented guy, a supremely gifted musician, and has absolutely nothing figured out, nor does he seem to care. He does what he feels, when he feels, and - in Mona’s opinion - he makes her feel entirely too much.

Funny, cute, and a good voice.

Fiona’s voice is perfect for this book. A little nerdy, just like Mona’s should be. She does a great performance overall, which is highly important.

This book is light, cute and funny, but also deals with internal struggles in mostly realistic ways. It is the first in the series, and honestly... the best of all three. Made me laugh out loud. Just what we all need right about now.

I love a good Penny Reid

This new offshoot of the Knitting in the City series is charming! I don't love a cliff hanger but since the next books are already available I'll forgive Penny. I really enjoyed the narration and am excited at the introduction of a male narrator for Abram's voice in the next book.

Love, Love, Love Abram!

I'm currently listening the final book to this series. This was the last Penny Reid series that had yet to read. After I finish, I'll be highly anticipating her next book. But I had delayed starting because I wasn't sure I was going to enjoy this story that contained deception. But I shouldn't have been worried. I should have known Penny would find a way to tell the story where I could deal with the initial deception. I didn't know that when I finished this first book of the series. But I was intrigued enough to continue on to the second book. Now I reading the third and hooked. This author writes smart, funny romances with angst. I highly recommend any books she has written. Once you read one you'll seek her other books out.

Oh so good from start to finish!!!

I have no idea why I gravitate towards these types of stories but I am hooked! It's new adult and angsty but its not overly dramatic, the characters are very well developed, the pacing of the story is just right and the layers that make up the point of view from Mona's perspective is a complete hook! As a young woman in a male dominated field, a prodigy, a sister & daughter of a famous family and always feeling like she doesn't mold to the constraints of normal Mona DaVinci is so much more than her smarts!!! She seems like she's in an ever evolving growth process and Abram completely throws her for a loop and I loved every minute!! I already bought the other two audios because I will continue to binge. Fiona Fisher delivered and then some!! WOW!!!

And then the wolves came

Loving this couple more than I expected. As a picky lover of all things Penny, I will read/listen to everything, but I have my favorites I can listen to over and over. Mona and Abram are definitely getting added in the regular rotation.

Well written!

The characters are multifaceted and well written. The female character was not as heady as some of Penny Reid’s female characters. Thank goodness! That is exhausting! The story held my attention it was entertaining. I look forward to reading the second and third books.

Penny Reid does it again!

I am a huge fan of Penny Reid and have been waiting for this 3 part story to make it to Audible. Now I just have to distract myself as I (not so patiently) wait for the next 2 parts to come to audible.
Engaging 3 dimensional characters give the story nuance. It’s a slow burn with plenty of anticipation and I love it!! Also love all the subtle connections to the rest of Reid’s universe!

Loved this

The main character is amazing. She actually had me literally laughing out loud. This is way better than the Chemistry Series
