Publisher's Summary

Before borders were drawn, before treaties were signed, before wars were waged anew, before the great kingdoms of the Remnant were even born and the world of old was only a hazy slate of memory told in story and legend, a girl and her family fought to survive. And that girl's name was Morrighan.

In Morrighan, a prequel novella to Mary E. Pearson's The Remnant Chronicles, a girl and a boy from enemy camps meet, fall in love - and set history in motion.

kind of slow

This book was very slow in progression. I almost quit, buggy kept plodding to the finish. Not sure I'm getting the next installment

Didn't enjoy the story

The story started out slow and then was rushed through at the end. As if the author couldn't be bothered to fill in the blanks. I honestly could've done without this book in my library. The narrator told the story well though and conveyed the emotions well. But the story jumping from beginning to end so fast made it not so enjoyable to listen to.

Quick, interesting novella!

Where does Morrighan rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It's a short, 2 1/2 hour audio book, so I don't think it's fair to compare it to other normal size books. But, it is a decent love story in an old, brutal, fantasy world.

What other book might you compare Morrighan to and why?

Any love story between young people that come from different worlds & beliefs, and the challenges that arise from that relationship.

What about MacLeod Andrews and Julia Whelan ’s performance did you like?

Since the story is told from the viewpoints of the male and female main characters, it worked very well to have them split between two narrators. It really made their feelings and outlook on situations all the more real & jarring.

Any additional comments?

I haven't read the main trilogy, so I can't compare, but if the main story-line is as good as the reviews say, I can understand why this short story set in earlier times would pull at the heartstrings.

This is truly a beautiful little short story.

Wanted Even More

I haven’t read the Remnant Chronicles yet but after reading this prequel, I am definitely interested. This was an intriguing story with a sweet enemies to lovers type of relationship in a unique and rather hostile world. I only wish there was more of Morrighan and Jafir to look forward to.

Morrighan is a must read

This brief base on the history of Morrighan is a great little read to The Remnant Chronicles. It gives a must needed insight into the origins of Morrighan.

Loved the story line, could have been a novel

It was lovely to be able experience this beautiful world that Mary E Pearson created in the Remnant Chronicles. I loved the story line but it felt rushed and would have done the story justice if it was a novel and not a novella.
