Morphers, Monsters & Mayhem: My Travels Through the Power Rangers Galaxy (Book One) is the untold, unfiltered, and often unhinged memoir of writer/director/producer Douglas J. Sloan — a behind-the-scenes pioneer on one of the most iconic kids’ shows of all time.

Sloan recounts the ridiculous (and ridiculously lucky) circumstances that landed him his first gig on the series, the unforgettable insanity that unfolded behind the camera, and his unceremonious “departure” during Power Rangers Turbo.

With brutal honesty and laugh-out-loud stories, Sloan shares never-before-heard tales — from his close bond with Jason David Frank to his battles with forces more evil than Rita, Zedd, and Master Vile combined.

This isn’t a takedown or a hit piece. It’s a self-effacing, cautionary tale about surviving Hollywood, packed with wild, unforgettable moments, like:

· Being cornered in a broom closet by an armed former counter-terrorism agent and his German Shepherd.

· Being told by Haim Saban why his office building didn’t say “Social Security” on the outside.

· And so much more!

Whether you’re a nostalgic ’90s kid, a loyal member of Ranger Nation, or just curious what really went down in the eye of that once-in-a-lifetime hurricane, this book is for you.

Overall, this is an enjoyable listen. But the sound mix/editing are a struggle. There’s many points where lines or partial lines are repeated, seemingly flubbed takes left in the final edit.

The story and narrator are great.

The stories are interesting, the delivery fine, but the production is the worst I've ever heard. I truly believe that the audio editing was done by a child. Plenty of instances of the author taking a line multiple times, no moments of silence between chapters making them feel like run on sentences, some actual sentences are just cut off in the middle, lots of mouth noises, just abominable editing.

Read the book instead of listening. The actual content is enjoyable.

great content, awful production

Good story, the audio recording isn’t the greatest. He also got some of the major history of the power rangers incorrect. Like The original yellow ranger actress died in 2001… not in 1997 as he stated in the book.

Good story… But plenty of factual errors
