Publisher's Summary

With more than 15 million copies in print, More Than a Carpenter continues to be one of the most powerful evangelical tools worldwide. Josh McDowell's timeless examination of the true nature of Christ and his impact on our lives is one of the best-selling Christian books ever. Written by a former skeptic of Christianity, it answers the tough questions about Christ's deity and the historical reliability of Scripture. In a concise, understandable manner, Josh explains why Christ's claims are true and how that reality can change a person's life.

Many of the arguments are based on flawed logic

Many of the arguments made in the book are based on flawed logic. If picking up on this will undermine your potential acceptance of other possible valid arguments, this book is not for you.

The narration is conversational, which many times is nice because it seems more genuine. However, the author tends to speak quickly running his words together, which can make it difficult to listen to, even slowed down.

Concise, Descriptive, Lucid

I had heard a lot about this book, mostly from David Wood, and Nabeel Qureshi's Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus. Excellent introductory apologetics book with sound evidence for Christianity. Recommended.

N/A

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

No but it was all informative

Any additional comments?

I had the actual book and was following along. There were many paragraphs and even a chapter that he left out of the audio that was in the book itself. I would get the book as it has a ton of references and sections that for some reason he decided to not include in the audio.

A must read for both skeptics and Christians!

This book is excellent!
The author has much credibility and his writing style is very clear. He was once a non-Christian and tried to prove Christianity as inconsistent and the Bible as fallible and unreliable. On the contrary, he found so much evidence as well as archaeological proof that he changed and became a devout Christian, devoting his life to Jesus.

In this book, he writes about how Jesus was no ordinary religious leader, but had to be GOD and is.

I recommend his other book called "A Ready Defense", which adds a comparison of other religions to Christianity, including Islam, Buddhism, Hindu, Mormonism, cults, etc.

a quick little book on why we chose Jesus Christ.

this book is brilliant and short. it touches on all the important aspects of defending Christianity with the right conclusion that "Christianity/being like Christ isn't something to be shoved down people's throats"
