Publisher's summary

They can't be in the same room without arguing—or without sparks flying.

Alete Keetch knows she is too independent, too opinionated, and too headstrong to get along with someone enough to ever get married. But that's fine by her—she gets all the fulfillment she needs by running her favorite town celebrations. Until the much-too-attractive new fire chief comes to town, determined to cancel them.

Zane Collins can't trust anyone but himself. When he moves to Nestled Hollow to become the fire chief and prepare the town for a potential disaster, he plans to keep his heart as closed off as ever. He's not looking for any connections—he just wants to do his job of protecting the town well and use the festival money to do it.

It seems the only way he can accomplish his goals is to work with the captivating but infuriating woman who's trying to thwart his every move.

Neither one is willing to back down from what they know is right. But neither one can deny the attraction building between them. Can they get past their differences long enough to fall in love?

Sweet enemies to lovers romance

This was a sweet and clean contemporary romance with the enemies to lovers trope. I love all of the creative ways the author brought the characters together and the fun small town setting. The dual POV was great for the story. The narrator did a good job.

Enemies to lovers story

This was a cute book about a new firefighter and city emergency planer moving into town. He is cute and would turn ladies eyes quickly including independent Alete. That is until Zayne shakes things up and acts all knowing. He manages to tick off a whole lot of the town. It doesn’t help that people love Alete and Zayne unknowingly gets on her bad side. This story about finding a middle ground and not just making assumptions. It’s about two people who have been hurt find that they can lean on other people.

The ultimate small town romance!

This sweet, clean romance is the ultimate in small town romance. Nestled Hollow is the town where everyone really does know each other. They have block parties and small festivals to bring the townspeople together. So when a new fire chief is brought in and has very strong feelings of how everything should be done, it doesn't go over too well. Alete especially has problems with the hard headed, hunky, gorgeous guy. He wants to do away with her festivals to take the funds for emergency management programs! Little does he know that he's not the only hard headed one in town.

Sparks are flying all over the place in this story--both good and bad. It makes for a very entertaining read--or listen. I listened to the audio version of this book and the narration by Liz Krane was very pleasant and fun to listen to.

I was gifted a complimentary copy of this audiobook. All thoughts are my own.

All those sparks could light their own fires.

Another great book in the Nestled Hollow series. Meg Easton always tells a good story and I switched back and forth between audio and reading. It seamlessly went to the correct spot. Alert had her finger in everything good going on in the small town when Zane collins came in replacing the beloved fire chief and also as emergency management director. He started running roughshod over everyone in his zeal to make the town safe and Aleta’s hackles rose as the only way to pay for their significant needs was to cancel several beloved festivals. Too bad their angry sparks turns into something else-haha.
Good narration. Clean

A sweet and touching small town romance

This audiobook is a sweet, clean, small town romance about two strong individuals who are passionate about their work.
Alete Keetch is the heart of the town. She believes that the multiple events she manages in town, is what helps people help each other and creates a community.
Meanwhile, Zane Collins is the new fire chief who’s come to town determined to make it more than prepared for a possible catastrophe. Even it it means cancelling all the special events he finds are not as important as his goal.
But to accomplish his goal, he has to work with Alete. Even though he is attracted to her, she not only drives him crazy, he’s not interested in a relationship.
Will these two realize that maybe working together will show the other they both want the same thing? Or will lack of communication slash all hope of finding hope and love?
If you are knew to the series, rest assure that it’s a stand alone to be thoroughly enjoyed.
The narrator did a good delivery of the dialogue.

From enemies to lovers

Another sweet Nestled Hollow romance... In this one, hotel owner Alete and new fire chief Zane butt heads repeatedly. Both are stubborn and unbending, although each has good reasons for their positions. I found it a bit more challenging to root for them thought because I didn't have as much of a sense that they would be good together as I did in the earlier stories in this series.

At least, that's how I felt until they did the 24-hour challenge. And then, well... I could see how things just might work out after all!

Nestled Hollow

I love this series in the sweet town of Nestled Hollow. This is such a sweet story of two people both wanting to do something good for the town but had differences of opinions. It was fun to see how Zane and Alete were able were able to listen and grow, to forgive and understand each other to realize they could be something other than enemies. The narrator was great to listen to, I recommend this book and audio.

Can enemies become friends? Or more?

Alete and Zane became aware of their attraction the day they met, but it didn't take long for them to realize that they both wanted different things for the town of Nestled Hollow. Zane's main concern was to protect the safety of the town, but Alete believed the town celebrations were a better use of the town funds since they unified the people of the community. These two people struggle to find a way to satisfy both of their desires for the town, and their desire for each other.
