Lovely, sweet, and real

Loved it! Just enough angst to make it suspenseful and real, and plenty of love and good vibes to make it sweet.

Such a great story!

Just wish it was longer. Such a feel good book. The narrator was spot on and you could feel the emotion. Bravo

✨Earnest and Charming✨

No, the way this was adorable and fresh!! It’s also a little bit of a Halloween novella! And completely unrelated it made me crave Mexican food SO BADLY. I’m always impressed when novellas can make me feel so much in such a small amount of space, and this was no exception. I saw on Twitter that this was the author’s first piece of fiction, so I’ll definitely be on the lookout for more!

I really enjoyed the slice of life we got because Will was such an awkward cinnamon roll!! Ben was also a cinnamon roll. It was just so sweet!! I teared up when Will talked about how transitioning saved his life :,) it’s such an earnest little snack of a novella.

I do wish their relationship would’ve started a bit sooner, rather than some of the failed dates etc. I think they could’ve been summed up in a paragraph or two so there was more focus on the main couple!! It would’ve picked the pace up a smidge and solidified the quick pace of the romance. Even then, it’s such a quick listen that I can’t complain.

I’ve been a fan of Alex for years. Love that he’s now writing. Looking forward to his next book - this one was just such a lovely read.

Cute debut romcom

A short romcom audible exclusive audio - a bit unmemorable while listening to this, but after looking up the author, this is own voices and Bertie's first fiction (and romance) story, which is cute to see.

The majority of the conflict in this is surrounding the MC's fear of sharing that he's trans with the guy he likes and the push back that may come from it, which is a mood. No steam in this, and was a bit too quick to feel much connection between the one sided 'enemies' to friends to lovers situation going on, but was an easy listen and a nice surprise seeing audible publishing a queer romance with a trans lead.
