Publisher's summary

It's 1945. US marine Ron Day has been fighting on island after island in the South Pacific. His company has another brutal battle on the horizon - Okinawa. Ron has been given leave in Melbourne, Australia, before shipping out to Okinawa. In Melbourne, he meets Charmaine Sturgis, a gorgeous big band singer. Like so many things that happen in war, they fall in love over the short leave time.... And war steals from us all.

A Lovely Story with a Lovable Hero

This was such a fun, sweet read. We travel into the head and memories of a war veteran who found love during the hardest time of his life, while fighting in WW2. The story reflects the real emotion of two young lovers grasping for something more when they know their chance at lasting love is fleeting.

I also, loved the author's personal insights and attachment to the story.

Thoroughly great read.
