Publisher's Summary

In Emmy Laybourne’s action-packed debut novel, six high school kids (some popular, some not), two eighth graders (one a tech genius), and six little kids trapped together in a chain superstore build a refuge for themselves inside. While outside, a series of escalating disasters, beginning with a monster hailstorm and ending with a chemical weapons spill, seems to be tearing the world - as they know it - apart.

Nice book

Interesting story, short on the believability, short on action, short on thrill. Safe for younger teens and adults who like to avoid the heavy hitting dystopian thriller.

Gripping, trilling and exciting

Contrary to several reviews I've read on here, there is plenty of suspense and excitement to keep you entertained. The narrator adds to the story by using voices and accents for the characters, giving depth to the story. Would recommend to all ages!!!

Monument 14

I really enjoyed this book. I’m an adult but I still enjoyed it. It was written beautifully and the performer was good. His voice was even and he didn’t mess up anywhere that I heard. Their was a lot of characters but not too much to follow. I’m excited to read the rest of series!!
