In this sample of the Diner Tales, Princess Dee'la is kidnapped as part of a conspiracy to start a war and offered to a monster. Nothing goes according to plan when the Monster gets a crush on his intended victim. Told from the viewpoint of the monster this story asks the age old question, "Who really is more civilized?"

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Monsters and Legends is a twist ona classic fariy tale about a princess who is kidnapped by a monster but the monster ends up liking, not eating the princess. The story is 45 minutes long and full of characters in different voices. It was very hard to keep track of the story. I woudd have preferred a longer story with more time spent introducing each character, so that their stories didn't run all over each other.

Would you be willing to try another book from Andy Bunch? Why or why not?

No, just not my style.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

I think the narrator did a fair job with the story length's limits. Again, the cahracters ran into each other and the nararator didn't distinguish voices well enough.

Was Monsters and Legends worth the listening time?

No, too confusing.

Captivating yet confusing fairy tale
