Good read.

I loved book one and was eager to listen to this but while it was a good read, it didn't grab me as much as the first one did.

The plot was relatively fast paced during the second half of the book but I found the first half slow going and a little boring. After what happened in the first book, the world has been changed. They have no way of knowing what's happening anywhere else as all communications have stopped. Food is running low and it's up to Wyatt and the gang to venture outside their small town to see can they get help and to let the world know they are still alive. But things are never easy and Wyatt not only has to face different monsters, but also the human kind.

I have to say that I found it hard to understand how the world could be so changed so quickly! It wasn't ever really explained in a way to fully satisfy my curiosity. I also found it hard to fully get behind the characters. I know their experience changed them but the magic from the first book just seemed to be missing here. I feel like this one wasn't as good as the first... but it still held my attention and I still enjoyed it enough to read the next one when it comes out, (if there is a next one).

Luke Hannafin was ok. It sounded like he read this in an empty room because the sound quality wasn't that crisp and there was almost an echo sound to it. He also kept dropping the voices for the different characters and they all ended up sounding the same.

I was given this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. This in no way affected nor influenced my thoughts.
