Learning from Listening

I’m new to martial arts or street fighting concepts. After listening once I now have three or four crucial moves that I don’t have to practice for 10 years to master. But, most of the other concepts I plan to rehearse by myself or with a partner. The one thing I wish the material covered is the latest incidents of mob attacks — one vs 10 who, once they get you down, stomp on your head and kick like they’re going for the kill. Perhaps the de-escalation tips will help here or Green Zone Idea. Also, attacking first if threatened used to be a defense in court, now citizens who defend themselves are being charged with assault. I will use these concepts only if fear of death or serious bodily injury. I liked the length of the book as well as the time spent on each technique. I never lost interest. I would recommend to others except those who can’t handle the idea of taking another life or seriously injuring another.

Helpful, informative and Concise

I am not a martial arts practitioner, but I was turned on to this book by a good friend who does. I was at first hesitant, as I began this book with a sense of skepticism. However, I found that the content it contained was very beneficial and enlightening. As I listened, I began to look at it in a totally different way. The author used plenty of real-world examples and situations. And while I may not begin practicing a marshal art tomorrow, I feel that when I do begin, I will approach it with "eyes wide open".

Pick it up and give it a listen.
