Some say Gretyl is loud, hairy, and obnoxious. Others are less complimentary.

Buckle up for a comedic rollercoaster ride, with bad wigs, waxing disasters, holiday scams, a deluded hitman, lust, arson, and murder.

After 50 years of marriage, Gretyl Trollop is thinking of a new life, somewhere hot. Her husband, Albert, is thinking of the crematorium. She's thinking of stuffing herself in a bikini. He's thinking of a taxidermist. The Londoners continue their separate lives until a mysterious letter turns their world upside down.

In Essex, Dave and Sharon Soddall are struggling on benefits and looking for a get-rich-quick solution. With the help of a devious financial advisor, they concoct a plan and Costa Soddall Travel is born.

Will the Soddalls pull off the con of a lifetime? Can Gretyl be silenced? Will Albert end up missing Gretyl?

We laughed several times as we listened to this story. Author uses unexpected figurative language and outright ridiculous situations for portraying humor.

I received this book for free. I am voluntarily posting this review and all opinions expressed herein are my own.

Each of the characters, except of Albert, is pulling some sort of scam. On top of that, several of the characters are married and their relationships have evolved since their early days of wedded bliss - whether they are physically changed, more prone to release their gas [burping, farting], or developed petty unflattering habits which prey on their mate's nerves. This is a complex story but full of comedy as several different characters [who you get to know] slowly but surely cross paths. I laughed out loud several times - Gretyl and her wigs and the shopping channel, etc. There are a lot of characters to keep track of but eventually it all comes clear. Very entertaining.

The narrator, Melanie Crawley, is absolutely fantastic. She provides various voices for the characters, sings and does sound effects. Really great fun.

Viciously funny, highly entertaining characters keep you laughing through out the book.
The detailed descriptions are so cringeworthy and outrageous that you can immediately picture them in your head. The storylines piled up quickly and mad it fun to listen to.
Even the scammers are being scammed in this hilarious story.

The narrator does a great job keeping the multitude of characters separated. Her character voices were consistent and the singing voices were a riot! :)

I felt as though this story needed one more chapter. The tie up was a bit too swift when compared to the delightful details throughout the rest of the book, but over all, definitely a worthy listen... PS.. Gretyl should be a TV sleuth. Her character would be well suited!

Highly entertaining
