Publisher's Summary

Prolific and popular author Dan Gutman launches a fun new series with this tale about second-grader A.J. and the unusual school he attends. On the first day of class, A.J. tells Miss Daisy he loves football and video games but hates school. Then Miss Daisy tells him she hates school, too, and the students think their teacher just might be an impostor.

Critic Reviews

“Reluctant students will have no trouble relating to A.J., and breezy Miss Daisy illustrates how respecting kids and balancing learning with fun can produce positive results.” ( Booklist)

Excellent narration and very fun story!

Miss Daisy is the best teacher ever and how can a boy not like a book that starts with I'm AJ and I hate school

Really annoying narration, lame story

Would you try another book from Dan Gutman and/or Jared Goldsmith?

Not unless there was a different narrator. The narration was so annoying that my son would scream when I put it on! And the story was so predictable, my 5 year old kept saying what would happen next. Very dissapointing..

What was most disappointing about Dan Gutman’s story?

It was very predictable and not funny.

How could the performance have been better?

I know this sounds mean but there was just something really annoying about the way the narrator annunciated every syllable...the voice was just so clear and yet sort of raspy, it was like fingernails on a chalkboard...
