Publisher's Summary

More than just being budget tips for the minimalist, this book is also about the virtues of minimalism. This minimalism is influenced by frugal spending and, in turn, frugal lifestyles are influenced by minimalistic tendencies.

There is a lot that needs to be deciphered and demystified, especially when it comes to understanding the commonly spoken terms of minimalism, budgets, frugalism, debts, and loans and so on.

Minimalism has come into the mainstream consciousness because of new age popularity in recent years. As with all things, minimalism has been severely misunderstood, misrepresented, and misplaced to fit the narrative that is in the mainstream public.

When you do not feed the body with nutrition, hydration, and air, it dies; if you don’t feed the mind with intellectual sustenance, it erodes, then dies; finally, the soul - it, too, can die when we deprive it of peace and happiness. Understanding this truism will help you fully understand the effects, benefits, and nature of minimalism.

This is the path that we will traverse in this book - the path to budgets that foster minimalism, while assuring that the soul is happy and thriving. There are three areas that correspond to the three parts of our total self. Silence, peace, and happiness relate to the soul. Living, fear, safety, food, and drink are areas that relate to the body. Appearance, power, control, egotistical issues, and worry are all issues that cloud the mind.

Excellent

I wasn't too sure whether I really wanted to "become a minimalist", as it seemed to me to be just the new trendy thing to do. But this book is more like having a personal assistant helping you to make your home beautiful again and get rid of all the stuff you don't need (or never wanted in the first place). What I really like is that there are instructions on how to declutter each room of your house. The book doesn't try to push you to "embrace the minimalist lifestyle" or whatever, but simply shows you how it's done if you want to. And if not, great, just use it as a guide to get rid of unnecessary stuff then. Dana also talks a lot about your emotional journey when you go through such changes, so she really understands what it feels like to let go of your past, which I appreciate very much! I already recommended it to some of my friends (who I know need some help with their clutter).. :D Definitely a great choice!

Fantastic

This is a very informative book on decluttering your home and dealing with the emotional part of letting go of the past. It is very well done and gives you a good guideline to starting yourself. The narrator did a very good job of bringing forth the information. I was given a free copy of this audio in return for an unbiased review.

This book supported me with a serious move. I have a 2 bedroom condo house. It's not easy to scale back. it means you have to throw away things you thought you would always have. the author so effectively points out, they are just things. the author gave me to understand that we should use things and treasure people. it is an innovative concept

good one

Dana provides a step-by-step approach to achieving the minimalist home of your dreams. We couldn't be satisfied in our new urban, industrial loft. Dana delivered me the courage to throw out or reuse up anything that wasn't earning its space in our new small home.

This is the best

There are lots of books on clutter removal, simplifying, and living a minimalist lifestyle. Of the ones I've read, most of them are not that well written or doable. While the book did have a few typing errors, it was well written with sensible, doable ideas. It was a short, quick read which I enjoyed.

Motivating

This audio book contains proven steps and strategies on living a minimalist way of life and embracing the fact that less is more. This will definitely help in setting priorities and disregard certain habits or tangible things that weigh a person down. I have read several books like this before, but this one really inspires and motivates me.
