Story
We are constantly being rushed, pushed to do more things, have more things, be faster, more efficient, more successful. But it’s burning us out. Even when we reach success, we’re not happy with it. The Danish may just hold the answer to that - it’s hygge, and you probably have heard about it by now. Go beyond fuzzy cardigans and lavender-scented candles. Embrace hygge to its fullest potential and give yourself the true peacefulness and calmness. Hygge has many facets you are not yet aware of. It’s a real shame to leave those amazing treasures undiscovered.

Practical and Helpful
This book is goes through the benefits and impact of minimalism in a concise and clear way. The author provides numerous practical tips on how declutter and get to a minimal baseline. I’d suggest people who read the minimalism book also check out podcasts (like millennial minimalists) that go deeper into the emotional and health benefits of minimalism. I just started the Hygge portion so no comments on that half just yet.

Boring
The reading style is very annoying in a flat boring tone that made me want to finish after 5 minutes in but thought I continue in the hope of gaining valuable information to help with our downsizing. I'm now halfway through and literary just get irritated by the high handed advice this book gives. It may be helpful to someone with a hoarding problem but for someone leading an average family life it doesn't add any value. An example is to delete work emails that are not related to your current project if you do need them in the future you can pay to retrieve them?!? In the first few chapters the writer also encourages buying new items to suit minimalism? to me this sounds counterproductive.
sadly I did not enjoy this book and would not recommend to anyone interested in minimalism. if anything it can put people off 😔

Story
How can you have a rich and fulfilling life? The choices you make, not your income or financial assets, are the most powerful determining factor for your quality of life. Women have never had so many options. Yet we often experience a kind of paralysis, an unconscious willingness to follow societal dictates rather than become the CEOs of our own lives. When we mindlessly follow the dots, we smother our innate gifts and miss opportunities to fulfill our true potential.

Hygge is a Danish word used when recognizing a trend or moment, regardless of whether or not together with company, either in home or outdoors, rare or habitual as cozy, beguiling, or unique. It only requires cognizance, specific gradualness, as well as the capacity to become available, understand, and appreciate the present. In this audiobook, I briefly explain the benefits, basics, and details of this lifestyle.
