Publisher's Summary

When we feel stressed and nervous, we eat more food, without even knowing what kind of aliments we’re putting in.

We follow the empty sensation our minds feel, and we’ll stop it with as much food as we can eat. It won’t be important, the quality of the feed, rather its quantity.

This is exactly the opposite way that leads to a conscious and correct alimentation.

In this audiobook, I’ll explain to you the mindful eating technique, which will lead you to a healthy relationship with nutrition. It will lead to a happier life by:

  • Reducing stress, depression, and anxiety;
  • Improve mood;
  • Reduce weight;
  • More effective digestion;
  • Reduce blood sugar levels;
  • Maintain a healthy relationship with food;

Mindfulness eating “...means attention, giving your food full attention.... Mindfulness means that you are aware of the positive and encouraging choices to choose and prepare food while respecting your inner wisdom...”.

Mindfulness eating’s discipline includes:

  • Be aware of the effect of food;
  • Be grateful for the food;
  • Eat slowly;
  • Feel the difference between real hunger and non-hunger;
  • Be aware of the dining experience;

Everyone should focus his attention on this important topic! What about you?

Stop be a slave of the food! Buy this audiobook by clicking the button below and start your new awareness!

Changed the way I eat!

The first part of the book presents a Buddhist perspective on weight control. It introduces the four noble truths which can be used to get perspective and solve many problems in life. There's also a meditation on eating an apple to help you become more mindful of what you're eating. Then there's a powerful chapter on how you are more than what you eat and takes into consideration outside factors as well as our mental and emotional states which may cause us to overeat or use food to treat deeper issues.I love reading about spirituality as well as ways to eat healthier and live better and this book combines the two topics.

Lackluster

Some of the ideas to replace eating include standing up and chewing on a straw and drinking a cup of tea, I’m listening to this thinking this is not really helpful to people who feel they have a real emotional disorder connected to eating, and it never went deep into drinking it’s like that word was included to make the buyer think it’s an “all in one “ purchase.

A must for overeating

I have an eating disorder where I overeat till I was stuffed unnatural.I'm quite amazed at the enthusiastic reviews this book has garnered. I'm an admirer of the author work. I've read several of his books and did a walking meditation workshop with him some years back. I'm a longtime meditator and my work is related (separately) to both food and psychology. So, I was highly motivated to read Savor.

Excelent,but Nothing New

Not just for eating, a guide for all your life. Wisdom words to know how to take care of yourself and others.Aside from the author, whom I really respect, talking about the benefits of being more mindful of our eating and excercising habits, there is very little new information in this book for those that have ever picked up a health book or magazine before. I didn't get too much out of this book.

Informative, Interesting, Motivating.

Great book, very informative and inspiring.if you want a guide that will give you tools to help you become both more peaceful and develop better eating habits, this is the book.The book may be useful for who wants to train mental control in a refuse way. But for who wants practical strategies to know how to control craving for food, it is helpful .

Helpful working with eating practice

As many of us struggle with eating and overeating, this book clearly lays out ways to be mindful around food.an excellent introduction to mindful eating.it really makes you slow down and think. Lovely speaker but not an engaging or inspiring voice for this type of work.

Definitely spiritual

I liked the book and think it would help anyone who struggles with mindless eating, but if you are spiritual this book is likely not for you.Maybe I am just not able to savor the moment in most things. My mind does not stay focused long enough to just think about each bite of food individually, the gardener who grew it, the water that nourished it, etc.

This is very thoughtful, deep writing. It seems something new pops out when I reread sections. I'm putting to practice the instruction just a little at a time without effort. Great help for being present during meals... I don't feel like I'm a prison convict sitting with my tray of food lately... gobbling. I'm actually focusing on my meal choices, preparation and eating like I never have. It feels good.

This book really helped change my thinking

This book really helped change my thinking and attitude about emotions, and not just regarding emotional eating, but emotions of all kinds. The explanations, imagery, examples... it's so helpful. 33 years of negative self talk... take that!!

Very poor narration

The quality of narration spoilt this. The words were run together and indistinct with pauses in odd places . I should have listened to the sample as I would not have bought it if I had. The content is not inspiring or original but is probably ok as a read book rather than audible.

An excellent book. I'm a psychologist

An excellent book. I'm a psychologist, and I used this book as a resource in a recent "Emotions and Eating" class I led. I think the book is a perfect balance between informal style and solid research.

Recommend, not just for diet but a lifestyle

This book is wonderful. It explains mindfulness in relation to food. However it is really more about adopting a health way of life that can lead to better health, a more fulfilling and joyful lift. As a dietitian I wish I could have all my patients read this. A must read for anyone struggling with weight/food issues, and a valuable read for anyone who needs a tune-up in everyday mindfulness.Highly recommended!

Highly recommended!

Anything by this mindfulness master is worth your time and money, but this one is also pure poetry on the subject of a life of gratitude and living in here and now. Mindful eating is often the missing link in many "diet" programs, and the author shows you the way towards true spiritual abundance. A must read for anyone struggling with weight/food issues, and a valuable read for anyone who needs a tune-up in everyday mindfulness. Highly recommended!

It is very concentrated on weight and calories

It is very concentrated on weight and calories. The nutrition part is outdated and sometimes lacking the scientific background. I didn't expect this from the book about mindful eating. If you are and do, then this may be the book for you, but if you are simply looking for a path to more mindfully enjoying the food you already eat then leave it on the shelf. All I've learned at this point is to eat more fruits and vegetables and get more exercise. Advice that I would bet, most of us already know.

Unique, Mind-Changing Approach to Food

Once in awhile, you come across a book you want to buy for everyone you care about. For me, that is this book. This is unique, and has stopped me in my bad eating tracks, through the power of awareness of a different perspective and new knowledge. Years ago, I read the book, and became a vegetarian upon finishing the book, and I have never had a craving for or interest in meat ever since. This book is similarly powerful.

Narrator can hardly read

This is a good book spoiled by a very bad narrator who sounds disinterested in the topic and who stumbles about hardly able to read cohesively let alone convey meaning through his reading
