Publisher's Summary

Milk and Honey is a collection of poetry and prose about survival. About the experience of violence, abuse, love, loss, and femininity.

The audiobook is divided into four chapters, and each chapter serves a different purpose. Deals with a different pain. Heals a different heartache. Milk and Honey takes listeners through a journey of the most bitter moments in life and finds sweetness in them because there is sweetness everywhere if you are just willing to look.

Beautiful and Intense

This book offers an uncompromising perspective of the authors emotions - it is shockingly relatable.
It is a wildly beautiful and intense journey.

Disappointed

I was so excited to get this but it’s so sexual in a form of abuse and seems like a cry for help more than it does poetry. Do not recommend

Underwhelmed Contemporary Poetry

Felt like reading a Tumblr of Instagram captions
Personal and easy to listen to ... but not sure. Fan of Anne Carson.

Meh

Bought this to see what the hype was about. In my opinion, this is a book that loses pretty much all of its appeal when listened to as an audiobook. I thought that being narrated by Rupi herself, it would be alright. I failed to realize that the charm of Rupi's writing lies mostly in its presentation. As poetry, it doesn't really stand on its own, and it truly needs those little sketches to come to life.

Dark and depressing.

It is well done but the subject matter is dark and depressing. I did not like the book. I can see why others connected with it but this book was not for me.

Egotist

Rupi Kaur is a bonafide egotistical maniac, please do not read this if you have any respect for yourself.

Bad

I didn’t like this book because it was very sexual and it is for high school students and I don’t think it’s right to have students reading this book it’s just Bad

Truth !

This book , these words , time has no way of conveying to a single person in pain as much as this book can ;of its truth to the singular soul level of the listener . Would I recommend this book ? If you have lost your truth along the way of life , then , yes! .
If you are avoiding the simple self , treatment of healing past scars , also yes !.
To say it is a good book , a great Liston , would do it no justice ! ...simply , it’s a dive to ,deepest Parts of ones self .
