Book 1-3

Paul Morey's Southern accent was down right endearing. I'm not a big fan of the accent but he sounded so dang on sexy, good grief!

All 3 stories are entertaining with a great list of characters, my favorites being in book 3.

Good tales, fabulous narration!

Paul Morey does an excellent Southern accent!

I like this little series of novellas. They're generally sweet with clear good guys and clear bad guys. They needed a light reading at an up-tempo pace.

What they got was a plodding pace with all the excitement of grocery shopping. You could drive a (very large) truck through the spaces between paragraphs.

I wanted the story though, so I upped the pace to 1.25. At that pace, the story was ok. I had already bought the next two in the series before listening to the first, or I wouldn't have purchased the next in the series.

It's really a shame, because if this were the first Megan Derr book you listened to, you might not get another. Yet many of her others are expertly read.

awesome narration - professional, slightly accented, low soft voice.
the story is a short, hopeful mix of drama and comedy. there's a special small gimmick that made me laugh out loud a few times - no spoiler!
no surprises, no cliffhangers, no deep truths - though there is a small intriguing reveal at the end.
the author is talented, funny, interesting without being too intense, too philosophical, nor too dramatic. she's got creativity, originality and intelligence - all the good ingredients for a good listen.
and, most important for me, there are no storyline mistakes! better a good, straight forward short story, than a long, messed up, silly one
sometimes, a soft ASMR is all you need to feel better: even when you listen to it first thing in the morning :-D
I am always in the mood for any of megan derr's little stories!

sweet little candy, fit for all moods
