Publisher's summary

For centuries, Malcolm has struggled against the forces of darkness - and bears the scars to prove it. Hardened by a lifetime of fighting, he is more warrior than man, incapable of feeling love or compassion. But one stormy night, he pulls a beautiful woman from a car wreck - and experiences a rush of fiery emotion that could melt even the hardest of hearts.

Since childhood, Evangeline Walker has felt the magic growing inside her. Descended from Druids, she is the perfect vessel for ancient magic - and evil. Evie knows she should trust no one, not even Malcolm, whose strong touch and tender kiss she craves. But after she makes a devil's bargain to save her half-brother, this fearsome warrior may be the only man who can protect her - with his heart, his body, and his soul....

Evangeline and Malcolm

Malcolm finally gets his chance at love in this book.
Evangeline Walker put up a web site to display a necklace that has drough magic in order to see if there are other drought out in the world. Her site was hacked, so she went on the run. Malcolm found her and followed her to Cantoole mountain. (She hears rocks and they told her to come. )
Malcolm is ready to give in to his god but decides to tell the Evie about the mountain and Deidre first and try to save her. Along the way he started getting his feelings back.
Jason is after her and Malcolm and do is "death's. We see quite a bit more of the Dragon Kings in this book, which leads us into the next series.
The narrator is easy to follow along with.
I am so glad that I went back to read this series! I love Donna Grant's stories!

This is my least favorite story in the series.

Out of all the Druids and Drougs Evey is the most annoying. It's like she has no since at all. I thought she was extremely stupid. There were many times I had to fast forward because I was so annoyed. I have loved all the stories in this series.

Great series

I am very impressed by the imagination of Donna. Great job Donna. I am sure you had a number of co-authors, unless this is all true, than one only needs a good memory. Great work.
Arika you did a great job on the male voices. Not everyone can pull that off. Well done.
Thank you for tying up all the loose ends. That makes the ending so much easier to handle.
Thank you ladies

As They Ride Off Into the Sunset.....

I fear this is the last book of the series. it was all that I had hoped for. I especially enjoy how the dragons were incorporated. please Donna, make another book in this series.

Love the Series, But

Are women physically weaker, yes. Are women emotionally susceptible, yes. This heroine was irritatingly stupid. I fo like happy endings, so . . .

MAJOR FRUSTRATION!!

I love a good book that makes feel. One that make you laugh, makes you cry, and makes you sigh. I've listen to all the books, feeling these things. This book on the other hard is just pure FRUSTRATION. The kind that makes you want to yell at both lead characters for being so stupid. Even if you didn't know the good guy was the bad guy, no one would make such bad decision. All they had to do was talk to each other. with a few words they could have solved there problems. This book was important to the series but if/when I listen to them all again I would skip this one.

Malcolm and Evie

This is a spin-off of the Dark Sword series and takes place in modern times. The Warriors and Druids are a part of the Dark World. Midnight’s Promise is the eighth in this new series, all the characters from the Dark Sword are present. This series was read as a part of the Audible Escape package.

This is the story of Evangeline and Malcolm, who are my favorite couple… but this was my least favorite book of this particular series. At times Evie is a powerful and intelligent woman… then she turns into a weak-minded simpleton. Maybe the book was only tolerable because of Malcolm, that he finally gets his HEA. This book marks the end of the Warrior series, but the characters and the world will continue with a new species. So this is a must read even though I found it fairly disappointing.

Disappointed

Very blah. Malcom’s story could have been better. I did like the recap at the end from all the warrior couples and the integration of the dragons.
