In Howling for You, Jeff Christopher is a shapeshifter and ally of Chicago's Cadogan House of Vampires. For a long time, Jeff had eyes only for the beautiful Fallon Keene. Unfortunately she is the only sister of the lethal North American Central Pack Apex Gabriel Keene. But fate takes a hand when the pack's totem is stolen, and Fallon enlists Jeff's help to retrieve it before the pack is thrown into chaos. Can she and Jeff find the totem and restore order before it's too late? And will Jeff finally be able to prove himself to the only person he truly loves?

In Lucky Break, Merit and Ethan are in desperate need of some alone time, but their attempt at a romantic getaway is quickly interrupted when one of Ethan's vampire friends shows up at their door - covered in blood and accused of killing her shifter husband. Now, Merit and Ethan must put their passion on pause to figure out who's really responsible for the murder before all hell breaks loose....

Just 2 stories in one novella, but they were quite good. The first story is Jeff’s to tell. The story takes place between books 8 & 9. It gives insight into the lives of the Shifters. It’s nice to see that there’s drama in every supernaturals’ lives & the North American Pack is no different. It’s a nice story that gives you a peak into the lives of the North American Pack & the strife that occurs in every family/group of beings. Plus we get to meet a new character & his pet too. ^_^ It’s a short story, but was well written & narrated.
The 2nd story is all Merit & Ethan…& of course another mystery to solve. Even when they try to get away, they just can’t seem to. This short story was quite good as well & we get to see yet another side of Merit using some ‘colorful metaphors,’ which I have to say was quite a refreshing moment. I really appreciated it & am glad she said what I wanted to say. lol!
I also have to say that I have great respect for Gabriel & enjoyed his interactions with Ethan (& Merit) a lot. He makes for a great leader which is probably why Ethan & him are friends.
I also really enjoyed this story too & hope there are more or would like to see more side stories in this book series.

A 2 for 1…

I wish the story teller of this series could make the male voices more distinguishable. The author has done a fantastic job of writing! !!

The story teller (reader) could be better

A great surprise to fine my favorite narrator under a different name. Chloe Neill is always good. Julia, I mean, Sophie made it better

Sophie Eastlake was Julia Whelan!!!
