What happens when the line between good and evil blurs?

Wow!!

Just giving everyone a heads up... this is definitely NOT the churchy Michael the archangel you've grown up reading about or hearing about in church!

A riveting new take on angels and demons.

In this book angels are not always perfect and demons are not always evil. They are realistically complicated and this book introduces you to a wonderful cast of characters that you can’t wait to learn more about. Fans of the hit television show Lucifer will enjoy this book! I give this book five stars because I loved the characters and the twists and turns the left me wanting to read more!

Michael's passion

Okay, this is a great start to a series. I really enjoyed it very much. I liked how Michael saw that not all demon are bad and the fact that he fell in love with her. It was a good story.

An interesting story

At first I didn't think I was going to like this story. it was a little steamy for me. But I am glad I stuck with it. I ended up loving it. I was glad that Jahi was rescued. Her existence was pure agony. I enjoyed the way she helped the children & in the end she saved Michael. A story full of evil, love & friendship. A great read.

Interesting forbidden love

What does a warrior archangel do when he finds himself bored? He falls for an unlikely, undemon demon whose an empath. Jahi Is nothing like other demons and they can't help but fall for one another even though its forbidden.

I Enjoyed It

I really enjoyed this book. It's my first book from this author. Great world building. I was fascinated by this world of angels, demons, humans, and God and the way it was all set up. I also really liked the characters. Jahi was my favorite character. For some reason, I'm usually more drawn to the male characters in books, but I liked Jahi from the start, her resilience and her strength, and was rooting for her throughout.

I listened to this audiobook narrated by Riley Roberts. I liked the tone of his voice. There was an almost comforting quality to it that I enjoyed.

Baskerville Book Reviews

I’m a bit biased towards this book. I’ve mentioned a few times in the past how I’m a fan of the whole good vs. evil battles in the shadows, while most people are unaware. Person of Interest, Supernatural, The Vampire Huntress Legend Series, etc. This has been my bread and butter for over a decade.

I like the good vs. evil battle in this story, but it really does feel secondary to the character development. It really focuses most of its time on introducing these people and making you care about them. I want to read more books from this series just so I can follow these characters.

It has forbidden romance (not the creepy kinds), the connection between the characters feels genuine. It’s not all sunshine and roses. It’s hard to describe just how well the characters are done. They have genuine thoughts and emotions, they recall events from the past that they still feel guilty about. They have hopes and dreams, worries and fears. Despite not being human, they’re all far more human than most characters in most novels.

I’m throwing this in at the end. The sex scenes are nothing to write home about. You could even say they’re entirely forgettable.

The narrator offered little value to the book. He reads one sentence at a time. To clarify, there’s a short pause after every single sentence. It makes the lines sound awkward and janky, dialogue doesn’t flow naturally. He mispronounces crayon as “cran” and if you’ve read any of my reviews, you know I can’t stand people who can’t pronounce basic words properly. The way he reads dialogue is bad enough; he also doesn’t add any character or emotion to the lines. They all sound dull and lifeless. He doesn’t put any effort into them, he just reads them all in the same voice, making it difficult to tell which character is talking at times. Hell, sometimes it’s difficult to tell what’s an inner monologue and what’s actual dialogue because it all sounds exactly the same.
