Publisher's summary

One of the most popular and beloved introductions to the concept of faith ever written, Mere Christianity has sold millions of copies worldwide.

This audiobook brings together C. S. Lewis' legendary radio broadcasts during the war years, in which he set out simply to "explain and defend the belief that has been common to nearly all Christians at all times."

Rejecting the boundaries that divide Christianity's many denominations, Mere Christianity provides an unequalled opportunity for believers and nonbelievers alike to absorb a powerful, rational case for the Christian faith.

Interesting to an atheist

I enjoyed this book very much. While Lewis hasn't quite converted me to Christianity, he has given me a much deeper and more nuanced understanding of the religion's basic teachings and ideas than I could have ever scrounged up on my own. Overall an enjoyable listen - Julian Rhind-Tutt is delightfully British.

Relevant thoughts from a Timeless perspective.

I've read this book years ago, and to listen to it was refreshing and allowed me to capture different thoughts that I had previously missed.
The audio performance was spot on, and easy to follow.

Lewis Took Me to School!

So glad this wasn’t just about a whole lot of elaboration or explanation of Bible quotes, which we get from everywhere all the time in Christian works, but very hard, difficult and profound thought work...almost like we are getting to be inside Lewis’s head as he worked out all the thorny objections & seeming contradictions in Christianity that had to be addressed on his path from non-belief to belief.

And the narrator’s voice is so golden, a priceless balm I could listen to forever.

There are many aspects of the religious life, specifically the Christian life, Lewis helped me better understand or even fully grasp for the very first time.

Being a Christian as well as a metaphysician, there were many pearls he shared that I do strongly believe will strengthen me in my journey of transformation into one of God’s New Men, aiding me on my quest to attain enlightenment in this life.

I am so grateful to have taken the time to give this book a first full listen, and know I will be listening to it again and again over time.

Speechless

I’ve always known in a roundabout way that CS Lewis was one of the greatest Christian thinkers to have lived. Now I know it in a very real way. This book challenged my thinking, provided clarification on so many issues, and helped me to understand my own Christianity in a way I never did before. The narration was also superb.

A great performance of one of my favourite books

Great to come back to this book that I first read as a teenager, and helped make me the man I am today. The narrator was fantastic! He had a warm, clear voice that made me feel like CS Lewis himself was spreaking to me.

Excellent book and narration

Mere. Christianity is a classic work but it is as relevant today as ever. C.S. Lewis dispenses with the doctrinal slicing and dicing and lays out the important and straightforward elements of Christianity in simple terms, illustrations, and analogies. While few will agree with all he says, he graciously allows for that and even expects it, while still producing a substantial volume that, largely, Christians of all backgrounds will have a hard time disagreeing with on the whole.
