Perception vs Reality

Imagine that it is your responsibility to treat a mentally-ill child based solely on your perception. Imagine being allowed to mess up under the guise of psychology being an imperfect science. Can someone be disabled because of an inevitable mental illness, or is this person just a product of a flawed system that is still trying to figure out solutions? The safety of being in control with no repercussions often leads to impulsive decision-making and a lack of accountability.
