The author gets it!

I am married to someone with ADHD and both my kids have ADHD. I can say that this book was very relatable. When you are married to someone with ADHD, you have to be very patient and understanding. There are a lot of struggles people with ADHD go through. At work, my husband can thrive because he absolutely loves his job but at home, he is lost and not productive and very forgetful. The author understands this and is trying to help those with ADHD become more focused and productive which in turn should help those in their lives. The author has a very empathetic approach but not in a way that feels sorry for you. Instead, the author is trying to empower you.

I like that this is a combination book as there is so much information shared and you can understand the differences between men and women of how ADHD affects them. Great book for anyone who knows someone with ADHD so that they can also learn to understand their loved ones struggles.

Great for my ADHD

So many valuable tips in this book!

I loved the tips in this to help you thrive as an adult with ADHD! I especially loved the productivity tips, because as someone who gets easily distracted, it can become a vicious cycle of trying to get the same things done over and over then getting frustrated with the lack of results. I also love how the author incorporates balance into everything, without overwhelming you. Highly recommend this book!

A bundle that packs a punch!

I read everything I can find on ADHD and this caught my attention because it was 2 books in one on adult ADHD. People always focus on children with ADHD so it was a nice change. My favorite part of the first book was the chapter on personal care. It doesn’t get talked about enough. I personally have suffered in not taking care of myself because overwhelming stress. Imagine having a disorder that prevents you from caring for yourself. It’s a downward spiral.
The second book I loved the chapter on organization and productivity. This a life skill that can help propel an adhd mind forward. It had many other good chapters like meditation , affirmations and emotions and mental health.
Any adult that got diagnosed later in life or didn’t get the right care as a child will benefit from this book. Make a difference in your life, get this book!!

For Someone Like ME

Just finished listening to this audiobook and really enjoyed it. Be forewarned, it is pretty long, clocking in at 10 hours. But I highly suggest putting aside the time to get through it. As someone who’s struggled with ADHD, it’s always nice finding resources that are tailored to me. The book dives deep into the nuances of living with ADHD, breaking down complex ideas into actionable steps without overwhelming you. It covers everything from the basics of self-care to mastering organization and boosting productivity, all through the lens of ADHD. I really liked the piece on practical advice for managing relationships and emotions. This is something I’ve personally struggled with in the past, so hearing new tips and reminders of some I’ve tried in the past, was very helpful. I also liked the section on optimizing physical health. It plays such a big part in our mental well-being, and it’s important to call out. The book left me with a feeling like I wasn’t alone, and that ADHD doesn’t have to be a crutch in life… With the right approach, it can actually be your superpower! Highly recommended.

Great Book

This book addressed adults with ADHD and covered people of all ages and genders. It seems that the author had done a great deal of study for this book. That was one of the aspects of this novel that I enjoyed. He carefully outlined the causes of ADHD and included solid data to support his claims. It is difficult for someone with ADHS to use their brain in a "normal way" since they are severely low in essential chemicals that our brains need to function properly. It is beneficial to develop the coping mechanisms that are illustrated in this book. I heartily endorse this book.
