Maybe the best book I have ever read!

Imagine if Sherlock Holmes gave up crime and moved to the old west frontier of New Mexico and became a ranchman and grizzly hunter. That is Montague Stevens. He absolutely brilliant.

Glad to see this on audible as I absolutely love this book, the virtual voice is easy to listen to, but it makes a few mistakes here and there.

Would highly recommend to anyone interested in the true west, as well as anyone interested in hounds, horses and hunting. Includes many great stories of frontier life, not just bear hunting.

A great American and the American way of life.

This is a great book on the man his dogs and the wild. This book kept listen the whole time. I loved it.
