I love this book

Life is never too busy to sit quietly with yourself. I learned not to be judgmental of myself or others. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone wanting to achieve a calmer mind! A quick but spot on guide to help you reset and refocus. When your mind is unconsciously keeping you from being your best each day; focus, face, reset! The techniques are helpful and pretty common sense. Short, sweet and 100% on point!

A tremendous blessing

I found this book easy to read and extremely helpful. I practice zen meditation and have been looking for insights on how to reconcile the eastern philosophies with my Christian background. This book did an excellent job helping with that. It is full of useful exercises from a variety of different traditions, and the ones I have tried out so far have been great. I'm very glad I read this book.

Good intro to centering your life

The best thing about Beth Yates 's book is that it actually makes taking the time to meditate doable. The short, sweet meditations give you something to ponder and weave throughout your day. I follow Beth Yates on social media and he is so positive, fun and insightful. These qualities shine through in this book.

One of the best books I have ever listen.

Though I believe intellectualism is a created title for dolts and boring minds, I also believe we need to understand ourselves, & each other. Descartes is THE place to begin if you have a true interest in that understanding, & your possible place in the world you inhabit.

simply great! to the point and easy to follow.

As someone long familiar with Buddhism but not yet over the hump in terms of a regular sitting practice, this is the book that (finally) got me over that hump. She writes clearly and cogently...in a way that makes you both understand her point but also curious to find your own truths in meditation. I finished the book and just thought.

My favorite meditation book.

I am on again off again insane. When I pick this little gem up and listen a passage it get's me out of my own head and starting to listen to something other than the deranged musings of the insane(me). It seems to work as long as I make the decision to use it.

A work with lots of experience

However, he has given so many of his insights throughout the whole story, which really match the sources. I did not expect such a range of topics and the wealth of explanations. The author relies heavily on the sources of meditation practice, which are Patanjali and Buddha.

starsBest translation

Very good translation. I tried a number of different translations and they seemed to be either unclear, full of archaic language, or just seemingly incorrect translations. This may err on the side of being too colloquial but only now and then. For the most part it's clear, concise, direct and an easy read. As other reviews say, packed with wisdom that's stunningly relevant to our times

The Beginner's Go-To Guide for Meditation

Brief, simply defined, daily thoughts to meditate on. Its seemingly weightless at first glance yet each one moves you progressively towards bringing a little more openness & peace into yours & others lives. Its not a how to or book of quotes, its a very friendly, digestible ,easy tool in your tool box of self awareness. It makes you think ...and yet the entries may only be a line or two.

best book for meditation.

After my heart attack I was advised to meditate, well I never meditated in my life. This book helped me begin the journey, and it is true after 30 days it did become a habit. I received this book for free from the kindle store and it was an interesting read. i am a pretty high strung person with a high stress level and the inability to let things go when I get mad.

One of the Greatest

Beth Yates has given us wisdom in its purest form. This should be a manual for every human's life. You cannot blame the translator for translating the Meditations, and you cannot blame Marcus for writing his journal his way, without ever believing anyone else would read it, for that does not matter. I have no criticism, simply I point out this book is not a light read.

You do really need to listen the book first

As I have learned to change my thinking habits it is always easier for me to start with a guided meditation tool as I make progress it all starts to blend into an automatic behavior.

For anyone who needs help with stress

Another wonderful book recommended to me by my amazing yoga teacher! In the past, I have found it difficult to visualize and stay focused. . well worth it for those who truly want to reduce stress. did not need to do all meditations as they are for some specific things.

Getting the most out of meditation

I love that this book offers meditations for a wide range of issues and topics. If you are dealing with a specific problem, just go to the index and there is likely a meditation or two offered in the book that can assist you. I found the meditations practical and effective and carried around this book with me while interning at a mental health clinic to assist clients who felt overwhelmed by stress and anxiety. Most reported that they enjoyed them and found quick relief after completing the exercises.

Great Meditations.

I've been meditating for several years and I love guided meditations. This one resonated very well for me and I even use guided meditations for pain relief. I used this one during a particular time of day that's generally stressy for me and was left feeling refreshed and relaxed. That right there for me is worthy of 10 stars.

Love this manual

so light and fun to listen There’s this gypsy kind of vibe with Zola which I think is her best charm or asset. Maybe that’s also one of the reasons why Kurt is head over heels for her. So cute! Their story is just so light and fun to read. No heavy dramas and complications.

This book really helps me and some of my closest .

It Simple is indeed simple to use and apply to daily living The format is familiar to many: a quote of the day, often from the Big Book, followed by a meditation, prayer, and lastly an application or action step to carry into and through the day. On my Kindle, Keep it Simple does indeed make it simple to follow my program daily!
