Publisher's Summary

This simple technique will make you master medical terminology in no time.

Why sneeze if you can sternutate instead?

Why have bowel sounds if you can have borborygmi?

Why have ice-cream headache if sphenopalatine ganglioneuralgia sounds so much better?

Even if you’re not a medical student, you should still have a decent understanding of medical terminology. After all, sometimes you have to google some medical topics or understand what your doctor is telling you.

If you are a medical student, well, you won’t graduate without knowing that the main muscle responsible for moving your big toe is called flexor hallucis longus. Yes, this is important knowledge.

It’s time to put an end to the stereotype that medical terminology is learned by bluntly memorizing weird combinations of letters. There’s a system behind all of these terms.

Most medical terminology was developed in times when Latin was the international language of science, and quite a lot of terms come from Greek too. Fortunately, you don’t have to master the entirety of Greek and Latin vocabulary and grammar to understand medical terminology - in fact, most of those fancy words are created using a clear-cut set of rules (for example, if a word ends with -itis, it means some type of inflammation). And this audiobook will show you exactly how these rules work.

Here’s what you’ll learn:

  • How to pronounce Latin and Greek terms and build their plural forms
  • Proven tips and techniques to help you understand and learn medical terms
  • A comprehensive list of the suffixes, prefixes, and roots used to create medical terms
  • The meaning of all the abbreviations that patients find on their prescriptions
  • And much more!

This audiobook will greatly boost your confidence, no matter if you’re a patient or a medical professional. You’ll be able to understand advanced medical texts and communicate in a very clear and precise way.

This was so informative

This was so informative, I had originally decided to buy the hard copy of it as gifts for my friends and family for Christmas until I found out how much the hard copy was, and now I will buy one or two copies and pass it around to everyone! I do think it is important that everyone I know listens to it.

Fascinating

A great audiobook I’m found it almost fascinating as if I was listening to a thriller, I always wanted to keep listening to know what would happen !! A great audiobook if you want to understand your own health better and take charge in it, rather then giving it away to strangers called doctors and have them fix YOUR problem.

Completly satisfied and good price

I have not found anything to dislike about celery juice. It is my lifeline to better health and my body lets me know when I have strayed from the path of healthy eating. No more pills to take and fewer pounds to carry around. Finding all the suggested ingredients to cook with is sometimes still a challenge in a small town.
