Shockingly prophetic story! Excellently Narrated!

My husband and I listened to this together on a few of our fishing trips out on the boat, Not that we ever need an extra reason to go fishing, but most times I couldn't wait for our next fishing trip - just so I could hear the next few chapters of this riveting story! It is excellently narrated by Kevin Clay. And the strangest thing is - my husband kept asking "WHEN did you say this was written?" Given the strange, virus-plagued times we are living in... it sounded like it was being written in hind-sight of the times we are living in right here in 2020... not 5 years ago! We loved the Christian references and the wonderful thread of hope and peace that is woven into the story! I would recommend this audio book to everyone! Especially if you're living in fear and apprehension about the strange times we are living in right now.

Great Story On Multiple Levels

This was an excellent audiobook on a number of levels. The overall story was certainly a thriller, opening with the murder of a Mission Doctor in Guatemala. This was quickly linked to the development of a virus. I just listened to this book last month and thought the author was maybe capitalizing on COVID 19 for his story line until I realized the book was written in 2016, well before the current Pandemic. With this in mind it is an extremely thought provoking story line. The second level concerns the man character's struggles to come to terms with his faith, priorities and work ethic. Finally, there are numerous surgical situations that occur that are both life saving and/or life changing that make you want to keep reading until you find out what happens. While I am not a doctor, I almost feel like I have been through part of a surgical residency after finishing the book! The narration is also excellent which made the story easy to follow both while commuting as well as at home. Overall a most excellent audiobook.

Fast paced action that’s hard stop

Fast paced action in this book makes it hard to stop listening. Good description and short chapters are fun to read. I liked the characters and dual plot lines that go back and forth, but come together later in the book. Narration is great too.

be prepared for forced Christian religion

the book struggles in the first half to connect the 3 different stories it has you jumping back and forth from. the second half does start putting it together but this is where the forced religion starts. obviously only forced if you continue to listen. just know it is thrown in anywhere the author could possibly fit it. it actually becomes a bit comical after a while.
