Publisher's summary

The first in a smart, sizzling new contemporary romance series by USA Today best-selling author Mira Lyn Kelly.

Jase Foster is as loyal and committed as a friend can get - when it comes to the guys, that is. But with women he keeps it casual and experiences what one would call a "high turnover rate".

Emily Klein is beautiful and confident...and has mile-long legs that have been strutting in and out of Jase's life since adolescence, leaving a wake of destruction. As they get paired up time after time as the best man and maid of honor in the upcoming nuptials of all of their best friends, Emily and Jase find their mutual resentment simmering just beneath the surface...right alongside their mutual attraction. Committed to maintaining order for their friends' sakes, they keep their personal loathing for each other under wraps...at least so long as they have an audience. But once they're alone...

so much fun

A new author for me and loved the story. The narrators were pleasant to my ear. The story kept me distracted from the stress of my commute. I was well entertained, plenty of chuckles, and moments where you want to shake the main characters. Can’t wait for the stories of Emily & Jace's friends 🙂

Charming and completely romantic

This audiobook totally charmed me. The narrators were perfectly cast and I felt every sweet moment. Jase and Emily have a complicated past that seems to hinge on their dislike do each other. And yet, wedding after wedding, they keep being paired up to walk down the aisle for their friend’s wedding. But all that dislike, makes for some major chemistry as these two find their way to one another. It’s 2 spice but full swoon romance. Completely loved this HEA

A surprise.

This was worth the read. Romance, a little angst and some drama. Just what I needed.

First I didn't like Jase, then I tolerated him. Emily was alright with me.

I managed to drag it until the end

There is no plot. The charechters weren't intersting. Slow pace. Yet, I kept listenung till the end of the book, maybe becouse the narrators made it tolerable.

umm ok

(Jase & Emily): this book is a slow burn but be patient because the reasons why will unfold themselves… eventually. This is a friends to enemies to lovers book. Confusing… yeah, because it is. 😂 So here's the deal, Jase and Emily are the tallest of their friends, not normally a big deal, until everyone starts to get married and bridezillas decide to match up their wedding party by height. Wouldn't be a problem except they can't stand each other. This is where I start to blank out because there's only so many weddings you can listen to before you start falling asleep. However the shenanigans that the groomsmen get into is quite hilarious. I mean it seems that Jase is always causing problems right before each wedding. Emily send like Ms. Perfect, always there to take care of everything for the bride and the family to make sure the day goes off without a hitch. Too bad she isn't an actual wedding planner. The story is quite comedic but gets real deep and emotional at certain turns and I give the author major points for that. My only issue is when the author tries to get a little dark with Jase and Emily's connected back story, I didn't feel as though there was a resolution to that part of the story. Emily's ex, Jase's former best friend. He's mentioned often and there are things in the book that were never discussed with him. Apparently, the ex went to a dark place and did some things but while Emily was able to resolve that relationship, Jase never did. I felt that there should have been a confrontation with the two best friends as a resolution of friendship for them as well. I did love that the author allowed a deadbeat parent to make amends and explain their choices. It's a good book. There's just a lot to weed through to get to the important part of the story.

Great story, great narration.

Love the humor and the telling of the journey for the two MC’s. Tad Branson just has a way of making his characters likable.
