Good start to a new cozy mystery series...........

Matress Mart Murder introduces amateur sleuth Chloe Cook. As a fairly laid back cosmetic salesperson for her day job, she is tenacious and formidable when trying to help a wrongfully accused friend. The author sets up the murder ahead of time by showing the eventual victim in conflict with multiple parties, all of whom become suspects for Chloe to interrogate. Although it might seem unrealistic that Chloe would have more success than the police in crime solving, that is the fun of a cozy mystery. I particularly liked how the author used fate to override and yet ultimately assist Chloe's Mom's matchmaking in the final scene of the book.

Rebecca Hansen's narration is good, although she was a little robotic in the beginning section. After that, her voice became more energetic and seemed to suit Chloe's cheerful personality well.

I received a copy of this audiobook at my request in exchange for this honest review.

Another Great Cozy Mystery

This is a great cozy mystery on Cape Cod, where they have Chloe's friend accused of murder. Thepolice are satisfied, they feel no need to further investigate so stopped searching. So Chloe goes to start an investigation. Chloe is a cosmetic salesperson she sets her business aside to help search for the murderer. Kristi a and Chloe go on a picnic, something in the vibes is off. There is a scene at the picnic that I won't expand on so you can read the book. Marty and Walter own 2 separate rival mattress stores. You have chaos, an X boyfriend of Chloe's. showing up at the picnic. There are many twists and turns with believable and interesting characters . You have the interviews and the lies, and you still won't figure out who is the murderer. Rebecca Hanson is the Narrator and does well maintaining interest. I love that there is no foul language, gore or sex. This is a great family book, or for your teens or for a slumber party.

Who Dun It in the Mattress Mart

Chloe is a cosmetic saleswoman whose friend Kristine is accused of killing Marty Diamond, the boss who just fired her at the employee appreciation dinner. Now she has to go after a killer. Good performance and story.

cute

I have never read anything by this author before but this book was cute, fast paced. Chloe will do anything to prove her friend not guilty of a murder. She contacts and questions suspects on her own because it seems the police want to blame her friend for the murder. The narrator did a pretty good job with the different voices. My only negative thing about the book it is to short. \

Nasal narrator

Basic clean murder mystery. The narrator was nasally and the inflection of her voice ended on the same “note” at the end of each sentence...very annoying. Sorry but just not a relaxing listen.

This woman has balls!

Ok,I hate giving reviews that are low. The narrator did a very sad job but, the writing was a bit childish. I think that if this story was polished it could be much better.

You will want to stay awake to listen to this book

This is the first book in this series that I have listened too and I enjoyed it. I like Chloe as a main character as she is a girly girl (selling make up ) but is still a tough cookie (learnt self defence when growing up). I also think her strong quick witted grandma is fun and hope to see her more in the next book.
Chloe is a make up seller but she isn't pushy.....Well that is until her friend Is accused of murder and a policeman keeps telling her to stay out of it. Chloe's friend is the number one suspect the night her boss is murder as it just so happens to be the night she is fired. Even though there other suspects with much better reasons to want him dead the police believe they have there killer and Chloe sets about proving them wrong.
The narrator was quite different as some of her characters had a real American twang, that took some getting use to but by the end of the story I found them charming.

My Honest Review

quite an enjoyable story and had the potential of being a great story if it was so short, regardless the author took the time to help you connect to the story and understand the characters within
